Should be in front of PSU imho but I’ll take it. Firmly believe we’ll end 11-2 on the year.

You know, I watch other teams and other than Bama and Clemson there appears to be a big drop off. Not a lot of great football teams this year.

We shouldn’t lose another game. But I do see that there can be a bit of a letdown. I think it’s a pretty good probability that we drop at least one more unexpected game. I don’t think to FSU. But probably something stupid like Missouri.

Mullen will try to play the SEC card. He’ll try to say the east is still in play to keep the team engaged but I don’t think that’s possible.

If I was him, I would really really focus on the bigger picture of their SEC record. Let these freshmen know that this is their first step to claiming their historical relevance at Florida with their SEC record. And let these juniors and seniors know that they need to go out with a bang. And that their commitment to winning will be reflected in their draft status.

And then it’s all about reestablishing the gators standard and not leading the subpar teams beat you.

As an aside I’d really like to see college football go to an eight or 12 team format. Not because numbers eight through 12 have any shot at winning it but teams will continue to fight and you will continue to have great football to watch if they believe that they still have a shot.

A lot of other ranked teams lost on Saturday. We’re the best of the losers!

I’ve always thought that CFN had about the most accurate rankings. But holy cow There are a lot of SEC teams in the top 25. I’m not sure how Tennessee is a top 25 team? So I’m not sure how much weight I would put in those rankings but they really value the SEC schedule.

I’m not a 100% sure that we are a top 10 team but we are definitely a top 20 team.

CFN has 5 SEC teams in the top 10 (We’ve played 3 of them and are 1-2) and 10 in the top 25. That’s crazy.

They also kept us at #9 even with the loss.

Minus-four in the AP and minus-three in the Coaches.

That IMO shows respect for how hard we played and where Mullen is going with the program. We obviously played a respected opponent.

It has a lot more to do with a season high 11 ranked teams losing than respect. Someone has to fill in those spots, so if you lost to a team ranked higher than you you weren't going to fall much this week.

We're the highest ranked team with 2 losses, as we should be. Our losses have been to two top 12 teams and we have quality wins at Miss. St and against LSU.

I can't believe we didn't drop further. I was told by some posters here leading into the game that the national media collectively hates our Gators and has a secret national conspiracy to talk poorly about us, even acknowledging we suck at times when we suck, or predicting a Georgia win when Georgia actually wins. The horror, as apparently this conspiracy to observe our teams shortcomings has existed as long as there have been analysts.

On a more realistic note, it shows how much it helps to be in that prime SEC Game of the Week slot (especially on an otherwise weak game lineup weekend). The ranking is indicative that a lot of voters actually watched our game and didn't just see the final score. We won the line of scrimmage most of the game. Our edge rushers didn't do as much as we all hoped, but our run D surprised many, as did our own running game. The rankings reflect that a lot of people watched.

11 ranked teams lost on Saturday, that’s the reality. We were the highest ranked losing team other than TX, which is why we didn’t drop much and actually leaped TX.
