I have deduced that Trex is a whiny *****. Maybe has stockholm syndrome related to being abused by Muschamp and/or McElwain. Almost as bad as that liberal captain america bigfoot f*g.
He was a whiny bytch long long before that. Back to SOS.

Both good points. As you said, sometimes people are just a little off. These are still 18-21 year old human beings that have lives and families, etc. that sometimes distract them. And it doesn't mean that an entire roster has to be off. It can simply be a handful of players that play flat or unfocused, and it basically implicates the whole team. Alabama was mentioned before as not having these moments. I'd disagree. They've lost a game against a team less talented than them in all of Saban's championship years, except '09. And it probably happens a lot more often than we know, but gets masked by their just having an insane plethora of talent to overcome it. If it happens to paid professionals, it's bound to happen to amateurs. All you can do is try to mitigate to the best of your ability.

On your second point, I agree, and Franks immediately comes to mind. Mullen recognizes there is still some fragility there, and obviously knows that he remembers his performance in Jax last year. As much as I do expect our coaches and staff to view this game as possibly the biggest of the year, I also understand DM trying to not over hype it and have it blow up in our face.

I sense that you're not looking to make friends here at GCMB, Fred.

I prefer our Gator QB to be the passer who carves up defenses in a way that allows for RB run-bursts like Fred Taylor used to have. Like for that QB to punish defenses' mistakes by "bolting" to daylight when it opens up = exciting CFB, that highly watchable excitement that enthuses top recruits about coming to Florida. Basically, I want Mullen to modify his "bash'em" QB style to pass'em QB style.

Sometimes the ladder back to the top might have a missing rung or two. In the case of the players and any "lackadaisical" effort, that can be a beast that raises its ugly head from time to time with even the best and deepest teams. This is just a personal theory, but often some of the reasons that players aren't 4 or 5 star might not necessarily have as much to do with physical ability and development or coming from a an elite program or having camped for multiple summers with great instruction and competition. It could be that for whatever reason they haven't learned to give it max effort on every snap of a ballgame, not to mention practice, but they had other measurables that got them to UF (insert McElwain jokes here).

I don't think we are a roster of only this type of kids, but having watched how they played under the last staff makes me wonder if there isn't some of this in a group of them that was further reinforced by that staff. What this team has done so far under Mullen is better than many of us thought possible to this point and I believe that he has focused a lot of attention on changing the culture left behind. As has been mentioned ad nauseum, there's still work to be done, but Mullen seems to understand the importance of addressing proper preparation and training the players as such. At this point, you have to count on the learning from a game like UK or UGA to pay future benefits. Another part of the rebuild.

I agree with others who have opined that they have no qualms with Mullen not putting so much pressure to win certain games that it adversely affects the mental preparation. The idea most coaches shoot for is that every game is important and should be prepared for in like fashion in terms of effort, teamwork, personal responsibility, and replacement of the injured that is a requirement to win. The differences will be in the technical aspects relating to what to expect offensively, defensively, and from special teams where the upcoming opponent is concerned. It would be great if all we had to do was sacrifice 50 vestal virgins each Friday, but then what would happen to the Sororities?

These good-guys are new to absorbing this real CFB effort.
They're facing Mullen's learning curve versus Mac's learning curb.

Rex has been good lately but sometimes he has to blow off steam or the pets in his neighborhood start to show up missing.

You just have to think that Mac's recruits reflected Mac's personality. At least some of them prolly liked his lackadaisical approach and shied away from the demanding, high pressure programs. Only reason I can think of that anyone signed with him.

Yep, and they think it's pretty cool too.

Someone mentioned Mullen still needing to install more of his offense. Reminded me we’ll have the benefit of bowl practices and a bowl game this year. That makes a difference in developing a team and individual players. You pretty much have to suck to miss a bowl game, but I assume the practices and games will also help in the recruiting process.
