Florida is on the road at Florida St. to begin the season Nov. 6 at 9 PM on ESPN2. Florida St. is ranked #17 and is a game White has struggled against since coming to Florida. Florida will need to play aggressive and extremely tough Tuesday night. Have to protect the ball and play sound defense.

Projected Lineup:

Nembhard
Allen
Hudson
Stone
Hayes

This will be a huge test for freshman Nembhard's first collegiate game, on the road against a rival. We have to come play and play all 40 minutes. No relaxing or coasting.

The season begins!!!!

Lee, I am sure that FSU is still stacked with long, tall athletic guys and that defense is their top priority as it is normally with Hamilton. But not pertaining so much to this game, but generally speaking, even tho we have a lot of the same faces this year, do you expect to see a lot of changes/differences, especially on offense? Do you think Mike will try and involve more people offensively thru player movement or should I expect one guy to dominate the dribble, wait for a ball screen and the other 3 guys standing at the arc watching? I think there is enough talent for this team to be good, but must improve dramatically on defense and I would also like to see a complete overhaul in the halfcourt offense. What say you @LeeForThree?

Hoping to end the losing streak to the clowns and start the year off right. OOC schedule is tough, plenty of opportunities for high quality wins!

I'm worried about FSU's size.

Defense is for sure going to be up and down to begin with similar to last season.

As to the offense, Chiozza was a dribbling machine to the point that it dragged down the offense. Nembhard is a pure PG and could be the best passer in the country already. We will have to see but I expect better ball movement in general. That said the scorers on the team besides Locke are all in the style of Hudson/Allen. They like creating their shots. They can shoot off the pass as well or around screens...but in general I wouldn't except a lot of off ball movement, especially early in the year. Listening the to exhibition it sounded like a lot more on ball screens/pick and roll/pick and pop then we ran last year...it was an exhibition though

I'm worried about FSU's size.

Cofer 6'8" forward, rs SR, 230 lbs
Gray 6'8" forward, rs Fr, 260 lbs
Osborne 6'9" forward, rs Soph, 215 lbs
Koumadje 7'4" center, senior, 268 lbs
That could be an intimidating inside game. Will show how we fare against bigger teams. Gotta stay out of foul trouble. Wow, I'm basketball nervous during FB season ??

Cofer is out a couple of weeks so I don't think he will be playing

Among the things I am looking to see Tuesday night:

1. Who is the first non-Nembhard Frosh is first off the bench and how many of the Frosh play.

2. Does Pinkins have an effect on UF's play inside.

3. How and much Ballard plays.

4. Does Allen get off to a good start in what we hope will be a bounce back season.

5. Is Gak available.

I wonder how long before Locke or Johnson take Allen's spot in the starting line-up.

Well K. Johnson is a 3 and Locke is pretty small to match up against power conference guards. Still we shall see as the season unfolds.

Johnson is athletic enough to play sg and Locke is bigger than Allen in height and weight if the roster listing is to be believed.

Sorry, don’t see that happening at any point during the season.

If he disappears like he did so often last year, I can certainly see that happening. Too many options on offense this year for him to play 28-30 minutes and only score 3-5 points.
