If the rumors are true about the other players hating Franks, this is a total catastrophe for morale.
I'm not sure I believe any of it. One week we're being told Franks is extremely popular with his teammates for his enthusiasm, his sticktoitiveness and the hard work he's put in to improve.

The next week he's a total bum?

Which is it?

Do you have a link of him being popular with his teammates?

But look at it another way. How pathetic is it that we are even at a point where we were hoping Trask could "save" the season? I did want to see him get a shot, though. Tough break for what seems to be a good dude.

I alluded to it all being message board fodder. Not sure who said it here. Marine1?

So we currently have two scholarship
QB’s on the roster for the remainder of the season......and Toney for emergencies.... two of the tree are runners and “if” they actually took snaps we’d be cringing every time they ran the ball. Prefect. Sounds about right.

Oh shyt. Dropped the clipboard on his foot for the third year in a row?
Really. No remedy for bad feet or injury proneness. That will make it easy on Cousin Eddie, who planned on starting Franks inspite of the fact that the fans would be furious.

And realistically, this will put and end to the EJ redshirt business which is stupid anyway.

That’s closer to the truth. CDM doesn’t get paid 6mil for nothing. There’s some deeper level mind games going on. CDM wants to win badly. He needs a stable of horses and needs to keep them all happy. Can’t anoint EJ without complicating his recruiting situation with JJ. Plus other reasons mentioned previously. It’s not really about the Redshirt IMO.
I think you may be giving Mullen more credit for brains than he's worth, even though it is hard to imagine being stupid enough to figure kids need a redshirt, especially skilled players.

"Just his leadership potential I think really pushed him over the top," receiver Joshua Hammond said. "I think all of our guys have leadership potential as well, but I think just Feleipe, I guess you could say he put himself more in that position and showed that he really wanted to be a starting quarterback more than anybody else. I think that was the biggest thing."

"Just lets us know who that guy is and getting comfortable throughout the game week and getting ready for Charleston Southern," tackle Jawaan Taylor said. "Feleipe is a great leader. Ever since we got the new coaching staff (arrived) he’s stepped up a lot as a vocal leader and we’ve all rallied around him and just trusting in what he does. He’s a great quarterback."

Franks' leadership, ability to extend plays earns him job
