That's 21 players (13 4 stars) with some surprises yet to come from possible signings like Steele, Fuller, Pickering, etc. and there will be offers to lower ranked players the staff sees potential or necessity in. Could be 25 in the class altogether. .
That is about half the bluechippers we need and we only took 17 last class (7 of which we EEs that counted back). We have room for like 34.

Remember this time last year we were told we were saving ships for this year bc that second class is always the elite one.

There isnt a damn thing elite about this class.

It is hard to imagine that we are still relevated to landing none of the top FLa kids and hoping to flip Plan C kids from Cowbell and Kintucky but I guess that is just the way it ia going to be with thia regime too.

I'm not sure what's going to happen at Safety. Seems like if we don't get the kid committed to Tennessee (who is already 220lbs) we may not get one. ?
smfh

We arent with in a dozen ships of needing to "hold one or two" for GTs. I dont know if there is an upper limit on how many can countback but if there is none then we could countback 15 and still take 25.

Small class after small class after small class.

We cant giveaway ships to live in UF's Section 8 Housing.

I just looked at the recruiting rankings and our commits. 24th, 8- 4 stars, 7- three stars. A month before early signing day. It looks like a bust. Mullen is a better coach than the prior two, but it looks like he and his staff suck at recruiting.

Super weird that you mention this considering it’s not backed up by facts. Crazy, right? Average recruit ranking for Florida is 3.53 and MSU is 3. Even crazier? That 3 is right around where Mullen averaged his 9 years there. And they’ve got 4 4 stars and 15 3 stars committed but **** it! It’s easier to just bray along with Donk.

Don’t disagree that recruiting needs to pick up but he’s a definite improvement over Mac and about where Chump hung out at, as far as quality. Maybe it’s best to turn the old bias off for a few weeks and see what shakes out? If it sucks, I’ll bray right there with both of you.

The "GPA is high" method only works because we are taking ten less recruits than we have room for. Its a really fccking stupid argument, but you already knew that.

It's okay you can always fall back on the we're going to save 10 seats, more like 15 now, for the next class (again) argument.

Ive got to admit, you are a zealot. You will spin anything. Eight bluechippers and a bunch of prayers. Ole Mullinz is really rocking the recruiting.

We've got 3 weeks and some change until signing day. The last week is a dead period/no contact so we really have about 2 weeks to fix this.

Current commits as of 11/20/18:
QB Jalon Jones 4 star
OL Will Harrod 4 star
OL Wadrick Wilson 4 star
OL Riley Simonds 3 star
OL Ethan White 3 star
WR Dionte Marks 3 star
WR Ja'Markis Weston 3 star
DB Chester Kimbrough 4 star
DB Jaydon Hill 3 star
DE Mohamoud Diabate 4 star
DT Jaelin Humphries 4 star
LB Tyron Hopper 4 star
LB Jesiah Pierre 3 star
ATH Trent Whittemore 3 star
ATH Diwun Black 4 star (Both ATH guys have been discussed as potential options at safety)

Probable commits:
TE Keon Zipperer 4 star
OL Deyavie Hammond 4 star
OL Kamaar Bell 3 star
DE Lloyd Summerall 4 star

Likely commits:
CB Kair Elam 4 star (If we whiff and lose him to the Dawgs it's a disaster)
RB Nay'quan Wright 4 star

That's 21 players (13 4 stars) with some surprises yet to come from possible signings like Steele, Fuller, Pickering, etc. and there will be offers to lower ranked players the staff sees potential or necessity in. Could be 25 in the class altogether. DB, DL, and WR recruiting needs shoring up as has already been noted.
Replace Bell with Tarquin.

Steele is more likely than Elam. Hear a lot of people talking Steele is happening. Elam 50/50.

Apparently Pickering had an amazing time and is leaning our way.

Bogle is a real possiblity.

Sanders may happen. Not likely

Another name I have seen with real possiblity is Antony-Richards

You’re smarter than this. Unless you assume we’re about to load out on 3 stars. I’m guessing we go half and half, which puts the GPA around 3.5 which isn’t great - especially for the second class - but it’s not all doom and gloom like you guys bitch about. Also, was addressing Raz’s comment about MSUs recruiting - Mullen didn’t take small classes at MSU and he only had a GPA less than 3 twice in nine years. Kind of invalidates that theory, no?

And zealot would assume that I’m pumping the recruiting. Clearly I’m not since my stance is to wait and see what plays out then bitch and moan with you and Raz if it sucks.

If you go by GPA, we are 14th. If we take half and half that average will fall and so will our class ranking by this metric. Some of our rivals are as follows:

1. UGA - 4.0
2. FSU - 3.93
4. Bama - 3.81
5. Auburn - 3.75
9. TXA&M - 3.67
10. LSU - 3.65
13. UT - 3.55
14. UF - 3.53
15. USCe - 3.53

This also does not account for big recruiting schools behind us like Clemson who is always in on 5*'s, Michigan, and USC. But let's concentrate on those ahead of us, because your estimate, if correct, will have us falling to close to 3.51.

UGA will stay far ahead of us.

FSU could drop some, and at 15 commits there is potential for a drop, but I don't think they drop near enough for us to over take.

Bama, forget about it.

Auburn has 16 recruits and they are a bit of a dumpster fire, but I don't see us catching them, especially if we drop some as you predict.

A&M is at 24 and won't move much.

LSU is at 20 and could possibly strengthen.

UT is at 20 and likely won't move much.

While I appreciate your attempt to look at quality, we still aren't looking good. We need to take straight BC's the rest of the way. If we get some big ugly 3*s that's ok, but all other positions need to be BC"s

We've picked up at least one CB for Tarquin (possibly 3). I think he'd be a nice get for us. I don't know if @BMF knows, but he's a true OT :lol2:

Also, it appears that we've gained some CB's for a WR named Kennedy Lewis. He's a 3* WR out of TX. Listed at 6'4 195lbs, so potential as a blocker. The kid Jones out of Lake City is 6'1 175, so unless he has some kind of gift, I see Lewis more in the mold of a Mullen WR.

Don't think we take another WR this class. Big play for Leonard Manuel next year

We are absolutely going to load out on three stars and we are already doing. Im guessing 80%. Hell, our big news of the last six months is getting a pledge from a walkon.

You guys REALLY dont see a problem here? REALLY?

That being said, so far, they arent FIU type low three stars borderline two or zero stars. Thats a good thing but eventually we have to fillnthe classes and the roster.

We need about 35 in this class. I just dont see it happening.

Honestly I cant believe we are this point. I cant believe only one kid of the Florida top fifty will touch us, and were forced to get leftovers from Cowbell, Texas or wherever. I also cant believe we have people in contortions trying to justify that our mid20s class is upper teens if you only count GPA and disregard class size.

And some argue there isnt a problem with our recruiters? :lmao2: yeah...ok.

We really cant GIVE these scholarships away. Ten to fifteen from last year and twenty five from this year? Cant fggin give them away?

I want Mullinz to succeed. I admit he is really growing in me. We MUST give him the help he needs, namely a staff that can recruit.

Yeah these look like the right switches. Glad you feel better about Bogle than I do. That'd be awesome. Sweeping this bunch and adding some road graders and space eaters and a safety would be very good.

Steele and Pickering committing would ameliorate the loss of Elam somewhat but I'd hate to see a legacy go to UGA. ugh.

Damn right he's a TRUE OT!!

The Kennedy Lewis CB's were from some bone-heads on 247 in Texas. He's basically been washed out of two of the classes (TCU, I think....and Texas)....so the next in line was UF. I don't think we take him.

I don’t even think we’re actively recruiting him
