He's not done. Maybe we can hire him. He's worth a million a year just as a recruiter. Go Urbs Go.
If this werent Oxking, it would earn a dislike.

I cant give King and Cover both a dislike in the same month. I wouldnt be able to look myself in the mirror.

Urb isnt really PERSONALLY renouned as a great recruiter. Well, winning is the best recruiter and he wins at an elite clip, but I dont know that adding him to the staff as some sort of recruiting assistant would help.

He is a hard ass and a good CEO. He isnt an elite game manager and doesnt adjust particularly well. He actually is at his best on the rare occasion he is an underdog and feels the need to be less conservative.

He is however pretty good at assembling a great staff of position coaches who are generally elite recruiters.

He is also elite at picking jobs to take. A loaded UF team w Bammer on probation and Booby Bowden and Fat Foolmer well past their prime. A Suckeye team w Meatchikn and Pedo State on probation.

Imo Meyer will die due to health issues within 2 years. Hope I'm wrong but coaching keeps him going. He's looked terrible these last few weeks.

Dude, he's not gonna' die anytime soon. He doesn't have heart problems, he had esophageal spasms....basically bad acid reflux, otherwise known as heartburn. And from what I've read his arachnoid cyst isn't leaking or bleeding and there's no life threatening situation with it. It's basically a pea sized pimple on his brain that can grow larger and cause issues but not death. He's had the simplest procedure to try and get rid of it, that being having a burr hole drilled in his skull and draining it with a catheter/needle. Apparently it didn't do the trick and filled back up. My guess is he's gonna' have to try to get it taken care of for good but didn't want to have the more complex surgery required. Perhaps he will now that he's not coaching. And when he does just watch how, low and behold, cured and renewed, he reenters the coaching profession.

He gave an Oscar performance during the Maryland near loss, but we didnt see any of that during the Michagan beatdown. I just hope he will be "well enough" to accept the call from CDM for the playbook against Michigan

Urban Meyer's time here was an abomination, and his phony "arachnoid cyst" is nothing more than an ovarian cyst of the brain. I've always said that the minute he left us the way he did - jilted us, if you will - the AD should have gone into the trophy case and smashed all the trophies he won us. Some of them would be pretty easy to smash as they are made of crystal.

Not sure what that means, but I’ll take it as a classic burn anyway. :owned:

Actually your comment about some folks needing professional help is what made me think of it. Some folks are so invested in their memory of Urban Meyer and the championships he won while he was here that it makes them incapable of believing or even processing the fact that he's a lying enabler of domestic abuse. They can't accept that he damaged the program horribly and embarrassed himself and UF over the year he did nothing but fake illness and audition the Dazzler for his job.

Granted, the mistakes that were made after he left were 100% on Foley. I appreciate the crystal. I do not appreciate the character of the man who won them. And I refuse to lionize him or look back on him fondly as a person.

Yes, if you want to call that season coaching. He didn't coach at all and shouldh't have been invited by Fooley to stick around, but that's a Fool for you. A guy that gave us 2 Natties in 4 years deserves the benefit of the doubt. Go Urbs.

Law, you're patronizing me and it's not necessary. If I've earned a dislike then give me one.

In the first place, denying that he's not a great recruiter is plainly BS. He's been in the top 5 almost every year since Florida. As far as a game manager, winning 91% is all I need to see. Now you even criticize (backhandedly) him for choosing to coach at Florida and OSU. You may have forgotten what he did at Utah and that directional school in Ohio before he ever got the opportunity to coach at Florida. You my friend, have a deep seated bias that has clouded your objectivity.

I'm really losing patience, especially with Gator fans, with all the Meyer hate just like a "woman scorned" syndrome. I could go on, but it does nothing to appease all the scorned women out there :). Hell even that nincompoop Dooley, after hinting that he and Meyer were close, brought up the idea that 3 players of Meyers have committed suicide and then said maybe he shouldn't have mentioned it. Jeesh what sophistry.

Urban would have zero Natties without Mullen or Hermon. There are ways for Urban to build public confidence in Day without tearing down members of his previous staff who were instrumental in his success. What a fvvcking tool.
That tweet is a bit out of context. It was said in more of a backhand way with a subtle tip of the hat to Mullen and Herman. Meyer said, "... even better than them."

Yeah, Meyer would have never won without those guys...LOL. Both owe their careers to Urban. He's just a winner(and a scumbag).

Two different perspectives of the same convo.

#1
Carter: So what's your view on what Day's done under you?
Meyer: He's elite, he's ready. He's probably the best OC I've ever had, he's that good.
Carter: Even better than Mullen or Herman?
Meyer: Even better than them.

#2
Barnett: Meyer claims Mullen and Herman couldn't wear Day's jockstrap.

Many on this board have been sitting on the couch in their Snuggies eating Haagen Dazs and watching the Oxygen and Lifetime channels ever since Meyer left. They are turning into bitter, man-hating spinsters at this point.

Things aren't out of control at OSU and they sure as hell weren't out of control at UF either when he left. We just needed to hire the right guy and failed miserably. Time will tell if OSU is making the same mistake.

Then why would Meyer himself call the Florida Football Program 'Broken' as he walked out the door? I believe the most common descriptive used for that same time frame was the 'inmates where in control of the asylum'. You obviously get very motivated when this topic comes up and very quick to remind everyone the great things he did at UF and now OSU. I don't disagree with those things nor do others in my opinion, but to not acknowledge how he also broke the program seems to put you in the same category of those who are lopsided in memory with hate towards Meyer for how he left the program.

Step back and be holistic ... he does great stuff ... then screws it up. I don't know why nor do I care to dwell too much on it. But it seems to be a pattern. He is like a chowdown at a taco bell. It feels so good going down ... but you know as soon as you take that first bite the stopwatch starts.
