Stricklin offers 2-for-1 with UCF; UCF AD says they "deserve better"

If the schools were to play in the future, Stricklin said it likely would need to be a two-for-one series. Florida agreed to play USF in a similar setup, with two games at Florida Field (2022, 2025) and one at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium (2023).

White has made it clear he would prefer to schedule home-and-home series with Power 5 opponents because the school generates more revenue from a home game than it would from playing a payday game on the road.

"We do home-and-homes with like FSUs and Power 5 leagues," Stricklin said. "We haven't done any home-and-homes with non-Power 5 teams. I don't think we would start that.

"But I'd love to schedule [UCF] in a game."

Stricklin laughed off accusations that he worked behind the scenes -- he's a member of the College Football Playoff selection committee -- to prevent Florida from playing UCF in a New Year's Six bowl because the Gators had more to lose than gain in a potential in-state matchup.

"If you win the game, it counts one win," Stricklin said. "If you lose the game, it counts one loss. When I was at Mississippi State, they said don't play Southern Miss. We played Southern Miss. They had the same argument.

"To me, South Florida, you could say the same thing and we're not hiding."

Gators AD would welcome 2-for-1 series vs. UCF

I forgot that we beat their ass so bad in 2006, that they backed out of the game the next year, instead paying us $100k to get out of the contract. :lmao2:

I blame the polls for giving these guys an an overinflated sense of self-worth. Now they think they automatically deserve a home-and-home because they're a top 10 team? Give me a freaking break. You just played Memphis for the league championship.

For the next 25 days, I'm an LSU fan.

White is an ass hole. Says they can't get a tougher schedule because no one will play them. I can't wait till they come back down to earth.

If you want to eat with the big dogs, you gotta earn your place at the table. Sorry pups, you wanna eat, you gotta do it twice in our home first. Hell, you are lucky we are even willing to come to your high school stadium.

Bowden had the same issue back in the late '70s. Instead of crying about it, he took his team to places like Lincoln and Norman on a regular basis -- and he won. Problem solved. Crying over it will get you nowhere.

Texas backed out of next year's game to play them I think. I also think we do have way more to lose than gain so I think Strick is FOS on that one. If you watched Milton play even one game you would have seen a pretty damn good QB that when hot could beat any team on any given day. I'm not saying they go undefeated in the SEC or anything but that kid was special. I really hated seeing him go down like that.

It's amazing how easily they made every other fan base root against them. It was only a few years ago when they hired Frost all the billboard were of him in his Oregon stuff because they thought it would make them look like big shots.

Gurantee if we said “ok one and one” they would find some reason to back out of that, they don’t want a tougher schedule, it would get in the way of their fake national titles.
