Seems like we hear something like this every year. Hopefully a vast majority of the “silent” commits are blue chippers.

We’ll probably never know what last year’s class may have turned into if we’d not completely fallen apart. I’m guessing we still disappoint. But that one actually seemed like it had real potential.

As for this year, I’ll never understand why some of these kids who are supposedly committed don’t pull the trigger and help us gain some momentum. You can only be as good as the team by which you’re surrounded, and you’re not winning anything on your own. So why not try to create some buzz and get some others to join you?

I’ll never forget when Ivey and Jefferson said in their 2015 intro interview that they were always going to be Gators and just waited for NSD for some arbitrary reason. It was maddening. Perhaps if CCJ had thought a little more big picture, he wouldn’t have been forced to make plays only to see guys like McWilliams or Rayshad mess it up, and Ivey wouldn’t have spent the majority of his career blocking for guys named Treon, Appelby and DelRio.

I know they mean well and want to enjoy things, which they’re entitled to, but it’s actually counterproductive for their career.

We are more than 98% of the way through the recruiting process from the last early signing day until this one. Using your analogy, can you begin to predict the marathon winners with less than 1/2 mile to go?

Sure, some runners might trip and a few may close strong, but you know a great deal by that point and acting like we simply don't know where we stand in recruiting isn't accurate either.

So who are we going to sign??

The coaching staff may have a good idea, but unless you talk to the kids, you dont know.

You broke it down pretty good. There's no such thing as a silent commit. It's like telling a girl at the bar you're going home with but for now your gonna dance with other girls. I

It can even bite the recruit in the ass in other ways too. Look at Fields. He supposedly wanted to commit at FNL but Corral beat him to the punch. Now he's in a miserable situation where he will at best only get to play one year.

I think you’re underestimating Fields. I think by mid season 2019, he’ll be the sole focus of any and all iladvised fake punts.

I don't understand team rankings either. fswho is ranked ahead of us yet their class is a complete disaster. They have a desperate need for LBs and o-linemen yet only have one of each.

They have 2 LBs committed. The reason why is so high is the DB/Ss, DL and QB. Notice they don't have any big playmakers at RB or WR.

Yes, teams ranked ahead of us because they have 16 3 star croots is ridiculous... Thats why I dont put much into the team rankings as I look more into the talent coming in and needs filled. We can be stacked but if we miss on a position of need I wouldnt say it was a great class.
There are only 3 teams ahead of us with more 3*s than 4/5*s. UT, Arky and miss. Tenn has a 5*. Based on avg * rating we're 17th in the country. 8th in the SEC.

Totally agree, but you’re talking about 16-18 year old kids who want to enjoy every ounce of attention from friends, coaches and national media. “This is MY moment!”

AND... I suspect the diva mentality will continue to grow exponentially with social media leading the way.
