How Kirby Smart "back-shelfed" this Fields kid should repel future recruits. All I could sense when Smart signed his 3rd in a row 5* QB, all I could feel was "destructive greed". Bet Kirby will show a bigger jerkworthy personality as competition catches up to pressure him.

I don’t really care if he ends up here or not. In a perfect world EJ or JJ would develop and be what we need. But I think it would be funny as hell if uga got the #1 recruit and Kirby couldn’t even do anything with him situationally and then He came here and Mullen helped him grow into a great player. There was so much hype around him and uga fans were clamoring for him to start at one point and Kirby couldn’t even make him effective in goal line or wildcat or anything. For Fields to come here and have success would give me so much joy knowing that it would eat up dwag fans inside.

Is there a chance Fields can save Gus Malzahn's job if he transferred to Auburn?

Only Mullen knows what he has in Emory Jones or the perspective on Fields to make a decision on whether a change is welcomed.

If Fields comes here, Jones will almost surely transfer. Mullen has to be real careful from multiple angles about the net-net. Considering all the options Fields will have, my guess is we remain status quo.

One thing is sure. The new transfer rules have forever altered college football.

I don't know if this was mentioned in the thread, but heard a stat just now. Of the 5 star QBs signed in 2013-2016, 75% of them transferred.
This is why I always felt that a high four star (rivals be 6.0) was a better signee than a five star. The five stars just get more praise than they, or anyone, can handle.

The national media is all over this. Interesting to see where he ends up.

Yeah, we ain't in position to turn our noses up to Justin Fields.

I thought I saw a post that he is going to OSU, and I doubt he can transfer immediately to any SEC team either.

I like the players we currently have and would trust coach to do what is best for the team as a whole.

He has shown little at the college level, at least that we know of.

If you're Fields, why do you want to go to Ohio State with that much change and uncertainty? You don't.

You want a good fit, a bright offensive mind, a name brand, a positive trajectory. The rules out FSU, too.

Oklahoma, Auburn or Florida. Really, who else?

This is what we know of. There's not a thing there that would turn off an OC.

Even if his numbers were horrendous, he's a true freshman. You can't judge how good a QB is going be as a true freshman. They are almost always dumpster fires.

Much of the time, yes. This may be at least in part a credit to Chaney, but he's certainly played within himself. Zero picks. That's the number you're most looking at.

There is no uncertainty. Ryan Day is the hc and they looked good with him as the interim. He developed Dwayne Haskins into a top pick. He fits their scheme perfectly. It also keeps him away from any other rivals.

So you know in advance that Ryan Day will be a great head coach? We should have hired you instead of Stricklin.

While Day may end up being a good coach, pretending he was an "interim" coach and using it as evidence is retarded. Meyer was attending practices and planning games in the "interim". The only thing he didnt do is stand on the sideline on gameday. Utterly dumb punishment.
