Keep thinking we are close to Georgia. They had underclassmen all over the field and put a big scare into Bama. We wouldn't have hanged with that Bama team without a bunch of turnovers imo.
Dwags had the youngest roster in the conference if I’m not mistaken. They just loaded up on more 5*s on Wednesday. They’ll be favored against everyone they play except for Bama for the foreseeable future.

In other news, UT lands more recruits, ranking up to 12 on Rivals, not including a 5* big DT Meatchicken transfer.

I would love to hear how U freaking Tenn is recruiting better than us. If you thought we were a dump the past 10 years, UT has been worse in every way the past 20.
Because Butters. And believe in Mullinz that's why.

Again, a premier recruiter can recruit. These are excuses.
This! Does anyone think for a second that if Urban had taken over the exact same situation as Mullen we’d have the 17th ranked class? Herman? Smart? Fisher? Franklin? Cristobal? Too many to list.

I’ve become a big Mullen fan, but he’s gotta get his sh*t together in regards to recruiting or he won’t make it. That’s not an opinion...it’s a fact!

Do you think he can just become a better recruiter? Does early verbals for '20 and '21 signal hes getting his sh*t together?

I think he can ensure he surrounds himself with good recruiters. He’s been a HC long enough to understand the importance of his roster. He didn’t collapse at Missy State every year because he forget how to coach midway through the season. He knows it was due to depth/talent.
He needs a balanced coaching staff just like he needs a balanced roster.

He actually did almost always got to 5-0 or 6-0 and collapse every year. Even the Dak years.

You're fighting over minutia on ways to stay miserable. Brissett transferred after 2012. Correct. My mistake and I remember now wishing he had stayed because Driskels early injury followed by Murphy's left us for all intents and purposes with a 4th string qb that year. Not exactly but still a rare and unfortunate set of circumstances. And it was only a few years before that brantley was hurt and we were managing the position with two eventual tight ends in Jordan reed and trey Burton.

You wanna split hairs to win some petty right to continue to piss and moan ok . congrats. The overall point stands that most major programs havent had to deal with that kind of injury or attrition save the national title osu team where they struck gold with their qb.

And so you do think you know more than Spurrier. Got it. How old are you? Just wondering

Continue *****ing and moaning for another year. Ill continue to.....gasp....wait and see and hope for the best instead of crying every step of the way

If getting his sh*t together means not waiting til the last minute, maybe. Show me the five stars though, then we can talk about getting sh*t together.

it was annual occurrence, so much so that when they'd get to 5 or 6-0 my ms st buddy would just laugh and say, "wait for it..."
:bob:

I swear, some people think just THINKING something makes it true.

Mullinz records are available for anyone to check.

That’s not a Mullen issue. That’s a “mid-to-bottom-SEC” issue. They don’t have the depth to handle an entire conference slate. No different than OM, Usce, Uk, Ark or VU. It’s not uncommon for any of those teams to start strong. But rarely do they finish on a high note.

Uk this year is a prime example. Best wildcat team since the Woodson team that took us a full 60 and beat eventual NC winner, Lsu. Their best teams are going to lose 4-5 games, most of which come late.

I sincerely ask this because I really dont know. I am not one of those people that will not budge from my opinions in a discussion when someone shows me something that makes a lot of sense that I didn't understand. I self proclaim that I do not understand how the recruiting rankings work all the way from how a team gets ranks to how players get ranked.

So what I am getting hung up on and pushing back from, is people that continue to proclaim top 10 class or bust when I sit here and compare our class to Texas class. I look at our class vs ND class. I look at our class to FSU class. I look at our class to Tenn class. All I see that is different with respect to stars is a bunch of rounding up of decimals and it makes me disagree that getting in the top 10 really matters. While there is a huge difference between our classes and the ones above Texas, I just see it as splitting hairs somewhere around Texas and below.

UF 12 4* ... 9 3*
Tex 14 4* ... 8 3*
ND 13 4* ... 8 3*
FSU 1 5* (not signed) ... 10 4* ... 8 3*
Tenn 10 4* ... 10 3*
I'll take this on:.

Look at the players rankings. Texas has 4 top 100 players. 11 in the top 247.

ND: 10 players in the top 247

FSU: 2 top 100 players. 8 in top 247.

TN: 2 top 100 players. 8 in top 247.

FL: 0 top 100 players. 6 in top 247.

We have a handful of good players but no elite prospects with a bunch of low 4*s. It's about quality.

agreed, and my statement wasn't an anti Mullen one. Just a statement of fact about needing real depth in order to finish a season strong.

What is your opinion on Urbs taking over cowbell? How would he do?
Creyer doesn't take over schools like Cowbell. He is too smart for that. He takes over a powerhouse program when it's rivals are in the dumps and/or on probation.

you know the answer to this so not sure why you're asking. He'd never take over a middling program in missussipuh but if he did they'd have the best classes and season records in school history.
