I'm interpreting Donkey's parameters to reflect actual "real world" conditions, and concomitantly realistic expectations. Some people talk about "grading on a curve" as if the events that have taken place, and will continue to unfold through NSD, all occurred or will occur in a vacuum of some sort. That is utter nonsense in almost any challenging or genuinely complex situation, and particularly in the one DM inherited. The roster, the team's morale and the very program itself were in a shambles. Player development was non-existant, and the concept that something that could be thought of as "The Gator Standard" even continued to exist, after the last 8 years, was sadly comical.

So let's stop pretending that this season was some sterile, controlled experiment in "adjusting" an already stable model to maximize it's pre-existing potential. That's not what this season was about, not even close. With all that said, I pretty much agree with swamp thang, with one caveat. I think the recruiting is at least a B at this point and fully expect a strong finish to improve that grade to at least a B+, if not better. I will close this by giving DM a solid A, while awarding him the order of the bouncing boobies for especially meritorious service.:jog::jog::jog: :jog::jog::jog::jog::jog::jog::jog::jog::jog::jog::jog:

A+. To do what he did with Franks was unbelievable IMO. Yeah he lost some home games but finished strong, destroying FSU and Harbigan and leaving this team feeling good about itself again. I'd give our fan base a D.

Fan base (overall) was a B with intermittent sshhhhushes needed. Just need to fill the stadium.

UK broke our streak and we broke FSU's. Would you guys be happier if both streaks had continued?
I would give a higher grade if we lost to FSU but beat the leg humpers. The butt sniffers are in our conference. So is Kentucky and Missouri.

Would I, personally, be happier with a win over UGay vs Girls School? Yes. Given that choice? ALWAYS. No UF team has ever lost to the bootlickers and gone on to win the conference. Ever.

We've lost to Free Shoes U and not only won our conference, but went on to win the MNC.

I'm not judging based on the last 2 douchenozzle coaches we've had. If that was the criteria I was using, Mullen & co would get an A*infinity.

I'm judging on "The Gator Standard". Which is, the last time I checked, at least winning our division. B- with a chance for a B+ going into NSD ??? Seems reasonable to me.

After the meatchicken massacre, we should finish the season with a final ranking of no worse than 9, and I expect will finish at 7 with wins by OSU over Washington and LSU over UCF. I have to believe that kind of final ranking will draw at least a couple of blue chippers to us by NSD. I gave Mullen an A- in the poll, but I'll have to bump that up to an A if the Gators finish the season that way.

I hear the frustrations and I concur up to a point, but with 10 wins, a several coming against ranked rather than just "rank" opponents, it's got to be better than a C.
You misunderstand me - I thought we’d go 7-6/8-5 an early that would’ve qualified as a C for me. 10-3 with wins over LSU, FSU, and Michigan gets a B+ when the other factors are considered.

When you find yourself more pessimistic about Dan Mullen and a Franks led gator team than Swonkey, you should probably re-evaluate your position.
You new here? Swonkey always plays both sides. He’s basking in the glory of a bowl win now but if NSD doesn’t produce a top 10+ class, he’ll be back on the war path again. My guess is that he will qualify his braying more but it’ll still be non-stop, especially if no staff changes occur.

I voted B+ because incomplete wasn’t an option. If recruiting closes strong, I’d switch to A. Hard to go A+, even with Franks limitations, having lost to Kentucky.

Solid A. Quiverlips stench came through during Kentucky so it’s hard to blame Mullen for the terrible attitude the team had going into that game. I was very impressed with the rebounds after losses than being upset with the losses in general. There was a whole attitude adjustment that needed to be made that can’t be pinned as a fault for Mullen

I went with A+ because the Gator football team was a hot mess and he turned them into a 10 win team in a year. That's pretty freaking incredible to me. You have to remember, had it not been for Ky refusing to cover our WRs TWICE in the same game, and a last second heave to cleave against UT, they were a 2-9 team last year. That's some ridiculous improvement with basically the same roster.

I'm in the A- camp as we sort out our individual versions of a T-squared analysis. Pros outweigh the cons and it's a 10 win season, Top 10 finish after a decade of abysmal game planning and execution. My A- is less about meeting the CFL expectation for getting A-A+ (playoffs, NCs) but overall improvement, execution and buy in from the low self-esteem our team had under the previous gymnasium janitor head coach. At the beginning of the season, I said my main expectation was to see a 3-unit TEAM united again, with some heart, resiliency and focused energy both on the field and crowding the sideline. The losses at home were amongst family supporting the rebuild and learned concept of it's an A-game in the league or this is what happens... guess my coach was right? But, resiliency always followed and there was no folding of tents, sulking or wound licking for this team. There you have it... A-
Congrats Gators, finally an off season of real hope is upon us.
Go Gators!!

A in my opinion.

The expectations most people had going into the season and ending with blowing out FSU and Michigan not much else I can say. Could things be better like recruiting? Yes, but that's why I'm not A+. But looking at where we were to where we are, I'm going A.

Two blowout wins. Great way to end the season.

Yes. Im a high expectations guy, and top 7 is really the expectation around here.

The momentum is all ours. Capitalize!

That’s why you’re my favorite poster here: may be annoying as hell but damn you’re consistent.
