If they really want somebody with a lot of promise, Neal Brown would fit right in. Kiffin would also.

I feel like all the guys that just signed there should be allowed to go elsewhere, no questions asked. That’s a real d!ck move because they probably knew this was coming, or at least he did when he’s convincing these kids to sign on down there. That being said, anyone we can poach? Gosh we’ve got a shot to own the state in recruiting for the next 2-3 years

NCAA and NLI guys have recently been very lenient in releasing signed players in cases of similar head coaching changes recently.

So if Uncle Luke is indeed responsible, does this mean he gets the final turnover chain?

I bet the early signees were super psyched to learn this right after they signed. I'm curious what the rules are regarding when players can sign up on the transfer list. If the new signees can sign up now, or at least after early enrolling, then it might be worth their while to consider especially if they are likely to redshirt anyway.

So is this good news for us? I think Richt sucks and wanted him to stay there a long time.

It’s good news right now. Long term...depends on who they hire to replace him. By the candidates names I’m seeing thrown around, it looks like Christmas won’t end for years!

@Keith247Sports: I'd bet a lot of Miami's rivals will push for this, too.

Rex Ryan, eh? Well, the feet prospects are probably pretty good in Miami with all the sandals and whatnot. I could see it.

Just heard this news while I was on my way home and think it kind of surprising. Immediately the first name that came to my mind was Mario Cristobal, for obvious reasons, but I see someone who is tuned in with scrotUM beat me to it. I do not see Diaz as a legitimate option but who knows. But it appears that when Uncle Luke talks, people listen, just like the old EF Hutton ads. Apparently Richt used a line from the movie 48 HRS. "Luther, are you angry with me"? and apparently Luther said "yes" and Richt hit the highway!
Cristobal has a huge buyout
Cristobal would owe a buyout of $10 million if he leaves before Jan. 31, 2019. The buyout decreases by $2 million each following year left on the deal, down to $2 million should he leave before Jan. 31, 2023, when his contract expires.

Mario Cristobal's contract details as Oregon coach released
