Do you think Mullen would win at UF?

Great find and here's a synopsis, wait, I meant to say a brief summary...
The 2018 football season is officially in the books for Florida, and that means it's now easy to quantify just how much improvement Florida made in Year 1 under new coach Dan Mullen.

Spoiler: It was a lot.

We'll break down the massive jumps Florida made in the major statistical categories the NCAA tracks below, while hitting on a few highlights from the season here first.

The biggest change is probably not too surprising, among the categories we tracked and updated on at various points throughout the year. Florida's offensive line was massively better this fall.

Under the direction of co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach John Hevesy, Florida shot up 98 spots in the national rankings from 2017 to 2018 by giving up just 18 sacks in 13 games. A year ago, quarterback Feleipe Franks was harassed early and often (and, granted, also ran out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage for a few sacks) to the tune of 37 total sacks in just 11 games. That was a massive improvement on offense.

Florida also was extremely efficient under Mullen. The Gators improved their scoring offense by 86 spots in the national rankings, going from just 108th nationally with 22.1 points per game to 22nd nationally at 35.0 points per game. That was nearly a two-touchdown difference in scoring output across the season, a remarkable turnaround.

The Gators made a similar leap in turnover margin, jumping 82 spots, from 89th in the country to 7th.

Florida's passing efficiency was also notably improved, moving up 77 spots with a jump from 112th to 35th as Franks got much more comfortable and began to operate the offense at a relatively high level down the stretch.

Fcking Coach gets it.... a quality win against a quality opponent is a big deal... but it was the fcking Peach Bowl.
I know. YOu got me laughing Doug. Like you said it was just the fck peach bowl. No bowl game in jawja was ever worth a shT.........We only let em have the SEC title game cause of their nice dome and the proximity. Now you wanta talk orange or Sugar you got some thing there usually. I want UF to finally make that Rose Bowl AND the Cotton Bowl. Peach is like Tangerine or Weed Beater or Home Depot water softener bowl.

I picture Wing as a big goofy looking guy like Ben Roethlisberger. Not terribly bright. Doesn’t communicate well the written word. Reading his posts is painful. And blind homerism that is bound to enrage the sane among us.

It’s difficult for me to see this ending well.
Yeah that’s me on the right at the CWS couple years ago when we won it. I doubt that I would be confused with Big Ben Ox, however I can throw up some LBs on the bench . Thx for letting me hang around. Posters here are a bit different . Kind of like it though.

Time to address the elephant in the room. Between you and the LSU fan, who was the pitcher and who was the catcher?

moving in the correct direction = traversing a reversing of how we play the game. (see neteng below)

That is all anyone that is reasonable is saying.

It's all just words put to a limited, specific statement originally put out there by a bowl committee = Florida is the Peach Bowl Champions -- just a bunch of PR-people touting their financial entity bowl.
Gator people repeat that honest limited statement to celebrate an achievement = #10 underdog beating #7 soundly. So sound off. No Gator fan is referencing this to us even beating the losers to champions of any other bowls. It is a stand-alone description of the only bowl game Gators have the rights to spout on.

Our DB situation lost to Mauck, Missouri's QB. Had our DBs maintained our standard, Mauck would have been intercepted a couple of times (possible scoring drives for us?) Mizzou would have had lesser TOP to do damage, as our offense would have more chances to find itself. That game was truly a flub. UK was just good when we weren't yet ready.

Anyway, since Mullncrew did that much with what all Butthearse left him, it's natural to be excited for stuff his Gators will achieve next year, well conditioned & schooled.??

A quality win against a quality opponent. But it was the Peach Bowl. The Peach Bowl is where unsuccessful UF seasons went to die in previous years. Now we are supposed to be as satisfied as when Ox drinks a Zima with the Peach Bowl. Get the fck out of here. that is how far the bar has been lowered.
Who denied the bar has been lowered? After ten years of garbage, you bet your ass it's been lowered. Let's hope Mullen can raise it back up.

That is exactly what Spurrier tried to change the culture not only of the administration, but the fanbase. The bar should never be lowered. Going to direction bowl game (non-bcs/playoff) is just a cap to a season. We both agree it's a step in the right direction. What was more impressive this season, going 3-1 against our rivals and teams with similar or better talent during the season.

Beating a Michigan team that may or may not been focused in the Peach Bowl. It's a good win, but it's the Peach Bowl. Felt the same way about us beating Iowa in the Outback bowl a couple of years ago. In 20 years, are we really going to be celebrating a Peach Bowl victory?
