Steele did come out and say he was going to surprise everybody. Which makes me think Oregon. I hope I’m wrong.

But I could be having PTSD from the Mac days.

I'm nervous as well. But, if player development is really at the top of what he is looking for as he's repeatedly stated, then DBU is the choice.

"Lean but strong frame with plenty of room to fill out. Carries 190 pounds with ease and should play at 210 pounds at the college level without losing any of his athleticism. A very physical press corner who plays with an edge to his game. Will bully opposing receivers at the line of scrimmage and shows the speed to turn and run with an athletic receiver as well. Strong in run support and will lay out an opposing receiver or running back. A highly intelligent player who could grow in to a safety in college because of his football IQ, frame and physicality. Tremendous work ethic off the field and driven to be not just good but a great player. Can improve his hips, change of direction and ball skills but should play early at the college level. Impact upper tier Power 5 starter and future NFL draft pick."
Decision Primer: 4-star CB Chris Steele

Could really use him.

He said he committed 3 months ago, and I can't remember anything about his recruitment back then. Everyone is CB'ing him to us, including Oregon.

Yeah that’s the same thing the lineman said before committing I think it’s an Oregon thing...lame as hell...but then again they’re a lame fashion school anyway

The only shock Chris Steele could make would be announcing for some school no one has reported on. Most of the kids who say they are going to "shock the world" are just trying to gain attention for their announcement. They rarely ever surprise anyone.

Mehhh.... the truth is that we wont miss a CB likely.

Always great to have more talent but it jist isnt a critical position for us.

Been biting my tongue not to say this and jinx his decision. Notice hips are the only scouting complaint.
I think they are trying to project them as Pros. So they are giving some fairly nit picky things. They have him projected at a 2-3 rd pick. But they also so they expect him to have an impact in run support. I think we need him with Marco's injury history.

Perhaps we need cb help, but we know beyond peradventure of a doubt that we need help at safety. Also, our undersized and under recruited cb (Chester??) looks like a real cover corner.

Kimborough probably needs to RS and put on a little size. You never know what the real measurements are. Don't forget that if we get Steele, we can probably move Dean to safety. We still have Stiner, Taylor, and Lenton at safety, but hopefully they'll be 3rd string by the time this all shakes out.
