Question, at the time what led you to believe he was such a poor coach, all you had to draw on was one year of data with richts players. It is starting to appear that way now, but at the time of your predictions he had taken them to the title game

His bangs, mostly.

Hardman was one of the most underutilized players I’ve ever seen. He is a Harvin type talent and was never used correctly. Could’ve taken games over if allowed and may have been the difference in those Ala losses. Basically a return man and occasional pass under Cheney and Smart. Borderline criminal.

Couldn’t agree more . Even Will’s sorry ass used Deebo more effectively than Smart and his band of bozos.

Agreed but Mullen lost at home to Kentucky. I’m playing devils advocate here as I was slobbing Kirby’s knob based on his recruiting. He is starting to show chinks in his coaching armor for sure and I’m starting to see what others were predicting last year albeit with so little data it was hard to know if it was flukes or just him as a coach
Sure, but two things, 2018 UK was obviously much better than 2016 UK, and we got better as the year went on. In one year, you lose to Vandy, UT, and UK while almost losing to Nicholls State. Mullen has lesser talent and a big culture problem. We still shouldn't have lost to UK, but look where we ended. Honestly, the Mizzou loss bothers me much more. Additionally, I've not exactly been pimping Mullen as an elite coach. I think he's a good coach.

Old Kirbs is losing some gooders:

Georgia loses top receivers, RB Holyfield to draft

"-- Georgia wide receivers Riley Ridley and Mecole Hardman and tight end Isaac Nauta are skipping their senior seasons to enter the NFL draft, taking away three of the Bulldogs' top receivers."

Not sure who they have waiting in the wings but I hope this helps us for 2019
The big positive I see out of this is they don’t care about Georgia. Think about it. The major goal is to get over the hump to win a national title. They are SO close, and yet guys who would be senior leaders next year are bolting like leaves dropping off its branch in the Fall. They’re all hired guns there who went for the bag and not the love of Georgia.

I called the so-called Georgia dynasty a fraud over a year ago. Kirby is a salesman not a coach. Alabama will handle them again next year and after that UF will control the east and finally take down Bama. Saban’s 67 and going to step away soon anyway.

Too many were impressed with Kirby’s recruiting and disregarded the other elements. Their window is closing. Quicker than the Noles’ did.
Georgia may implode. I'm talking about beating bammer. Nothing is impossible but they are on their way to one of the best recruiting classes ever. Mullen will have to start getting top 5 classes. Let's start there first.

We’re two years away from seriously competing with Bama. I don’t see Saban coaching well into his 70’s. We will have top classes the next two years to go with a good class this year. Things are falling into place.

In two years Georgia will be Georgia....still dreaming of 1980.

I've lost track of how many have transferred or left early. It has to be over a dozen by now.

Athens is burning.
