@SamWebb77: Breaking: Greg Mattison Leaving Michigan for Ohio State... also according to @BillBankGreene, Greg Schiano is OUT at OSU - Breaking: Greg Mattison Leaving Michigan for Ohio State

Wow. That's a big move. Surprising.

I met Greg Mattison in 2007, he spoke to our Gator Club. I had drinks w/ him afterwards (he and his wife) and he was hilarious. He got hammered on Jack & Cokes.

When he left UF it was a financial thing (assistant's in CFB weren't making the big bucks back then - compared to now). I think he was making $250K, or no more than $300K, and was offered $500K to coach for the Ravens. He has a family relationship w/ the Harbaugh's so going to Michigan made sense. This is a curious move because I'm sure Urban tried to get him over to OSU and now he's going and Urban is out? Curious if this is a sign that Jim H may be on the move. Mattison was quoted when he left UF about not having a retirement plan and this was a good financial move for him and his wife. Since he left UF he's probably made more than $6 million in salary....and he's still coaching.

Curious what's up w/ Schiano. After the Tennessee debacle I imagine he may have issues landing somewhere in college (due to an uproar from sensitive students).

Our DL under Mattison were always top notched players. The guy can coach and surprised that he isn't a DC yet. Wasn't he the co-DC while at UF under Meyer?

Definitely a surprise.

He's been a DC several times in his career, a couple different stints at Michigan, Notre Dame, co-DC at UF, and w/ the Ravens. I think he's content at his age to just coach the DL. He's certainly made enough money the last 10 years.

@BruceFeldmanCFB: New #OhioState HC Ryan Day worked with new Co-DC Greg Mattison at #UF when Day was a GA on Meyer's staff and worked with the other co-DC Jeff Hafley with the 49ers on Chip Kelly's staff.

@JayGlazer: I’m hearing Kliff Kingsbury is interviewing with NFL teams, which likely means he has resigned as USC offensive coordinator. USC was blocking him from interviewing for NFL head coaching openings @NFLonFOX

Apparently he didn't resign so I guess USC changed their stance.

Or unless that is in his contract he is ignoring an illegal requirement. We don't have slavery here (at least not with coaches) so if their contract does not prohibit your interviewing they can't force you to not interview. And accepting is far different than interviewing.

Or Ohio state has decided to clean house after Urban leaving.

Schiano did have those PennState issues. Who knows what else they found.

Got the feeling they had made this decision as part of the 3 game suspension... let them ride out the year and retire with "dignity"

Muschamp making some changes.

South Carolina: Source tells FootballScoop former Miami offensive coordinator Thomas Brown is expected to join the South Carolina staff. Chris Clark with South Carolina’s Rivals site has reported the same. Source tells FootballScoop tight ends coach Pat Washington is not expected to return. We hear another move is coming on the defensive side as well. Stay tuned….

I just heard here on DC sports radio that the Redskins fired DB coach Torrian Gray.
