I liked him when he was here. I'm sure he will get a job soon.

Hell, I'd love to see him back here. He's a Lakeland guy. He should have never left the college game....but coaching under Butters was a pink-slip waiting to happen (he got out while the gettin' was good - and going to the Redskins was probably good for his career trajectory at the time).

+1! Great recruiter and position coach. Go get him, Dan!

I just heard here on DC sports radio that the Redskins fired DB coach Torrian Gray.

Their DBs were pretty good considering what they had. Sounds like a scape goat fire. It's not his fault they were rolling with QB #4 on offense.

@FootballScoop: Was not an easy decision. Great opportunity presented to him; but was told he made the decision to stay last night.

Colorado State: HC Mike Bobo turned down an automatic $100,000 raise that was written into his contract.

"I'm the head football coach, and I believe accountability is a two-way street," Bobo said in a video released by the school on Tuesday morning. "A lot of times you want to point fingers at why you weren't successful. I'm the head coach. For it to be a two-way street and be effective with our players I want to take accountability."

For Bobo, accountability for the 3-9 campaign meant amending his contract. Due to get a $100,000 raise for every year of his contract through 2022, he instead will make $1.8 million for the second consecutive year in 2019.

Rare, but nice move by Bobo

A month later and Butters still hasn't finished his staff...

Central Michigan: Ryan Beard, former linebackers coach and co-special teams coordinator at Louisville and former defensive backs coach for Jeff Brohm has been hired at Central Michigan as safeties coach and special teams coordinator, source tells FootballScoop.

He seemed to have the same problem here.

Troy: expected to hire Kansas OC/QB coach Chip Lindsay.

(Troy would have been a great spot for Kerwin as head coach)

It’s a noble move, but not the prudent one. The reality is if you already have that thought that you’ve let your program down and hold yourself accountable to the point of foregoing money, ironically, that’s enough in itself. There are a ton of clowns walking around as head coaches who do nothing but blame others and/or screw their employers. For CSU to have a guy who even considers that should be enough to pay him. At the end of the day, it’s a contract. Outside of just straight thievery, the coach should get paid.

That said, he’s a bulldog and I hope he gets canned and is forced to walk shamefully off campus as Ram fans taunt him and his “even worse than Butters” record.

@38Godfrey: Sources to @SBNation: Expect Alabama WR coach Josh Gattis to leave the Tide for a coordinator job at another school.

Probably Maryland OC.

This constant turnover can't be good.

While not good it means you are doing something right on the field. Your team or unit is playing well enough that other teams want your abilities.

Honestly, I think Bama has been getting by with superior athletes on defense the past few years. Especially their secondary, which is Saban’s baby. The level of coaching seems like it’s declined.

I was listening to the Collin Cowherd show I believe he had Joe Katz (spelling) on Tuesday night (replay). The guest said the difference (bama and clemson) is you know when you go to Bama you are going to the factory whether you are a coach or player, you are going for a short time to come out a better player or coach to go else where. You got to Clemson it is a more family like relationship, which is why players and coaches choose to stay longer. Bama has lost 13 coaches since the first NC game against Clemson, Clemson has lost 2.
