Carson Beck, the QB who took a 2-8 Mandarin team to the 8A championship and was declared Florida's Mr Football wants to come to Florida. He's currently committed to Bama. 39 throwing TDs, 2 running TDs, 3545 passing yds, 59% completion rate. Great film!
Carson Beck on Hudl

Was a UF baseball commit before he committed to Bama for football. Maybe a dual sport athlete for us?

I in no way want Richardson to bail but there’s gonna be a competitive room regardless of another body

The rumors started spreading the last couple of days. He is a 2020 recruit and we have Richardson committed for 2020.
Isn't Tua's brother committed to Bama? Going to be competition there too...

Yes he is. Carson might be a legitimate pro baseball prospect as well so we'll see. But he is an excellent pro-style QB who has the quicks to run the football effectively.

When there exist high-star "busts", we need to get Carson Beck QB here to compete with Richardson.
His recruitment would be a good test for appealing to a 2-sport athlete. Plus the plus of taking a QB from Bama.
With Beck's stats, to skip him we could miss out on a top performing SEC QB.? Let Mullen/Johnson form him.

Meh. 247 3* tho a consensus low 4*. Needs to show that he is a willing runner.
39 Throwing TDs 2 TDs running, 3545yds passing in 8A, won over undefeated Miami Columbus HS. Better passer than any of the QBs we have committed. He had couple of runs in his Junior highlights in which he showed ability to juke and cut.

A question for the people in the know. We already have Keivone Lee committed for 2020. Bowman out of Lakeland is supposedly ours if we want him. Where does that leave EJ Smith, Emmitt's son?

What's the # of QBs you should take every year once you are on schedule? Seems like we are finally on schedule with what we should have so don't think you go after a whole bunch. The local kid looks good and you kinda got to take him if he is a stud and from Gville, right? So ... I would think any other QB we take next year would need to be a big time stud. The kid looks good ... but is he a stud you make room for? Besides, seems pretty pocket to me. Why would we take a pocket guy? That is like UGA taking Fields.

Who knows, but both Bowman and Lee are expected to be top 50 players by their NSD. I’d expect him to be a Texas and aTm battle

Yeah I am hearing A&M also.
I guess Houston, Baylor and TCU could make a run. Or even OU, but seems like he’ll look regionally and not try to follow his dad

By 2020 both Franks and Trask will be gone. If Richardson stays committed then you only have 3 on the roster. The optimal number is 4. Plus we have seen what Mullen can do with a pocket passer in Franks who was not a very good pocket passer at all. Carson is a very good pocket passer.

Wait. I really don't mean this in a disparaging way against FF, because I think he had a great year ... but ... are you saying that our template for future QB recruits should be the FF mold? You realize you are making my point, right?

We will have EJ, JJ and Richardson (if he sticks). I do get trying to get another QB next class ... but a pocket guy?

He only has 2 scrambles out of the pocket at 4:20 and 8:17 of his junior year highlights:

Carson Beck on Hudl

but he can run.
