I don’t know about you guys, but as a New Yorker I’m stuck traveling for 65% of my work day, so naturally I need something to pass the time. I got sick and tired of listening to the same few albums every day for years, so I finally got into listening to podcasts. I know some of you are old school wrestling fans, and so I began listening to wrestling podcasts that talked about the backstage shenanigans, rumors and innuendo, and business side of wrestling from its heyday.
THEN, I started listening to true crime podcasts. I just finished listening to Dirty John and Dr. Death, which I highly recommend. They’re told by reporters who investigated the stories locally for their large newspapers (La Times, Boston Globe, etc) and at the end of Dr. death they shared their new venture: Gladiator.
Gladiator is a behind the scene podcast and look into the unstable life of Aaron Hernandez. You’ll hear some familiar voices as our very own dunce extraordinaire Pat Dooley is one of the first voices you’ll hear. And it’s all told by the investigative journalist who covered the tragic end for the Boston Globe.
I think he’s a POS, but I’ve always wondered how it all went so wrong. If you’re into this kind of thing, you can listen for free on your podcast app (for you old farts, you all have the app pre downloaded to your iPhone, just search it and play it. Totally free)

Gladiator: Aaron Hernandez and Football Inc. by Wondery on Apple Podcasts
And here’s the synopsis:
When Aaron Hernandez was found hanging from a bedsheet in a maximum security prison cell in Massachusetts, he joined a growing number of former football players who’d taken their own lives. But he was the only one who left a trail of bodies in his wake. Spotlight investigates how Hernandez’s personal life spiralled out of control even as he rocketed to NFL stardom. His teammates on the Patriots were never sure whether he was a goofball who took a special kind of thrill in unnerving them, or whether he was truly dangerous.
