The wife raved about this one.

Barry (Bill Hader) was very good as well.

Haven’t kept up with Man in the High Castle.
I better get back on it ‘cause it’s a gooder as well.
Yeah I stopped halfway through season 1 only because my wife isn’t interested in war shows or movies. So it was hard to watch it with her around. But it was really good

I’m excited to see true detective season 3. Season 2 was terrible.

For anyone who hasn’t seen season 1 it’s one of the greatest single season shows in history

Season 2nd wasn't as good, but I rewatched getting ready for second 3. Still not as good as Season one, but without the expectations it wasn't horrible either. Though most of the characters were still bland, Vince Vaughn does one of his better acting jobs with that role.

My wife’s the same way.
My daughter told me about this one.
The correlation to Philip K Dick’s book ends after season one and they did a good job of continuing the story.

I watched the first two seasons and was hooked.
I’m hoping season three doesn’t disappoint.

Stranger things

Season 1 was great . I really enjoyed it . The second season was okay , just not as good. I’m looking forward to season 3 coming out in July

Safe

Michael C Hall plays a British man whose daughter goes missing . If you like mysteries you’ll definitely enjoy it .

Ozark has its moments . I liked the pilot and most of the first season . I’m only a couple episodes into the second season and it’s decent so far . If you like breaking bad check it out .

The sinner

Jessica Biel sure is nice to look at. I’ve watched the pilot and thought it was okay. I’ll watch the rest of the season at some point just to see how it all turns out . A trip to the beach seems normal enough until the main character snaps and kills a fellow beachgoer for no apparent reason. This one has potential and hopefully won’t be a letdown .

I watched the first three seasons I think of Homeland. It centers around a Marine (Damien Lewis from Band of Brothers) who comes back from a decade of being a POW in Iraq after everybody thought he was dead. He becomes a famous hero but CIA officer Claire Danes is suspicious that he might in fact have turned into a rogue agent for terrorists.

I enjoyed it as long as the Lewis character was in it. I can’t remember what season it was that he left but I stopped watching after that. It was good though.

Speaking of Lewis, he and Paul Giamatta are in a series called Billions, where Lewis is a rockstar billionaire hedge fund manager who does crooked insider trading, and Giamatta is probably equally as crooked as the federal prosecutor trying to nail him. Liked that one too.

The Wire is probably my favorite series ever, followed by Breaking Bad.

Dexter is a serial killer who only kills other serial killers. Fun for several seasons but starts to get too crazy toward the end.

Can’t wait for the next season of Bosch, hopefully there is one.

Ozark is very good although season 2 starts a little slow.

Goliath season 1 was great. Season 2 interesting but the ending was lacking. Hopefully season 3 wraps up that story a little better because it doesn’t seem finished.

The Patriot is a bizarre dark comedy about a depressed spy. It has its moments but not for everybody.

Barry is great. I thought it was hysterical.

Jack Ryan was good IMO except for the bizarre side story of the drone pilot. WTF? That whole part was terribly done and didn’t really ever tie in with the main story. Still, worth a watch. If you’re a Clancy/Ryan fan, don’t expect the screen version of the same old characters.

Homeland is good. I’m now 2 seasons behind.
The Wire was awesome.
You ever see Deadwood on HBO? Probably my favorite after The Sopranos.

Yes Deadwood is best combination of the eloquent prose and filthiest gutter language I’ve ever seen.

The Sopranos joins Mad Men and a few others as shows I’ve tried several times to get into but I only last a couple episodes before I stop watching.

Dexter was epic. The books are even darker...hence darkly dreaming dexter. Downright dark. Dude is bananas. One of my all time favs. It's out there in the American Psycho area code.

The ending was shyt though. The first 4 seasons were absolute golden. Definitely one of my favorite shows ever.

Our local CBS station and Charter are having a dispute so my recording of Blue Bloods did not work. I watched the last two episodes and it reminded me why I enjoy it so much. They have current issues that they cover, decent personal issues among the major characters, and good action as well.

Just finished a show this weekend and If you don’t have Starz I highly recommend it. Amazing original content and a very large movie database.

The Missing- Starz (2 seasons, 93% rotten tomatoes)

Synopsis:

Whereas "The Missing" debuted to critical acclaim by following a father's desperate search for his son, the second season explores a different side of what happens when a child disappears. Told again over multiple timelines, the puzzle of twists and turns begins with the revelation that Alice Webster returns to her German hometown after having been missing for 11 years. As she struggles with her newfound freedom, her family is thrown back into a turmoil that threatens to tear them apart. Meanwhile, French detective Julien Baptiste joins the search for Alice's abductor in the hope that case may hold vital clues to the whereabouts of another missing girl.

So I finished both seasons of the missing. And it easily became one of my all time favorite crime/murder mystery shows. Insanely well written. I think it’s on amazon prime now if you don’t have Starz.

Dark and Godless are also really good on Netflix.

Godless was a good western with some high profile actors in it.

If nobody mentioned Ray Donovan, its about a "fixer" (Liev Schrieber) who hails from Boston and now words in LA. Whenever some director or movie star or other rich assbag gets in a sticky situation, they call Ray to come clean up the mess. Ray's two brothers also live in LA and one is mentally challenged and the other is a boxer who has Parkinsons. The final piece of the puzzle is Ray's dad, played by Jon Voight, who is a con man who is constantly effing everything up. Its an orgy of dysfunction.

Mindhunter is 2 seasons about a couple of FBI agents who start the whole profiling program used to catch serial killers. Its set in the 60s or 70s when society was very straight laced, and breaking through the orthodoxy to get in the weeds enough to understand why serial killers do what they do is met with lots of roadblocks.
