Whats wrong about sweeping a bank floor? I guess its akin to buying stuff at a DG.
You think he was just sweeping floors? He was the janitor. Empty the trash cans, vacuum and mop the floors, clean and scrub all toilets, etc. They were paying him, it was a job.

I saw him in there twice in the evening, both times when the blinds were open because he was cleaning them. Both times he was wearing those big blue rubber gloves.

If he is working to clean up perhaps it is mostly a hobby. I really don't see him blowing all that money he made. Of course I have no inside information and could be totally incorrect.

Good. If you're not on board with it, Swamp Gas is accepting applications. I'm sure they love themselves some Ron Zook over there. You can go fawn with them.

First off, John Offerdahl has been bankrupt for years - you occasionally see him panhandling. Secondly, it's his own failing business, so mopping his own floors makes a little more sense since he can't afford to pay an employee to do it.

Zook did it (and it about to start doing it again) for a local bank because he was broke and needed the money. Perhaps it's gambling or alimony or something, because whatever money he makes is gone FAST.
I think Johnny sold his first bagel company to Einstein's so he's probably loaded. Zooker, I have no idea.

Brooks was the best ever, especially on defense. There was nothing wrong with DeCinces, except that he wasn't brooks. Although the last couple years Brooks was sad to watch, especially at the plate. Those were good time for the Os. Not so much since then.

4 20 game winners in a single season. That will never happen again. Palmer, Cueller, McNally and Dobson.

When I was in high school I worked at a car wash. Palmer would come through occasionally. He was always nice to folks.

Great rotation. That was a special season.

Zook is what it is. I think he wanted to succeed but it's like hoping you wake up in time to get to the toilet before you piss in your jammies. Loser mentality.

1969 I caught a home run from Boog Powell over the right field fence at the old Municipal Stadium in WPB. That Orioles team was loaded. Spent many an afternoon at that ballpark and got to know many of the Atlanta Braves who were our home team. Met nearly all of them including Hank and Tommy Aaron but actually got to know Rico Carty the best. He always gave us the broken bats after games and treated us to whatever we wanted at the concession stand.

Those were good times.

Had a whacko client who was so obsessed with retribution against neighbors for walking their dog on his property that he installed a remote cam with a monitor and a Hunter irrigation control box all in an office in his house.

He would sit there at his desk slamming beers watching the monitor. Whenever a neighor walked by with a dog, he would flip the switch on the irrigation system.

Did he live near Hope Beach boat ramp on Lake Weir?

Zooker owns (or owned) part of the bank, Also owns part of Eaton's beach restaurant on Lake Weir near Weirsdale, And they're opening a new place near Venetian Gardens in Leesburg. I wish I had his Lake Weir home, It's about 3/4 mile from mine but his is lake front.

You're behind the times, old hoss. He lost all of that stuff in the divorce.

Zook will end up where McCarthy gets a job. Mike loves him some Zooker. As a Packer fan I been saying zook should have been fired years ago.

That’s all just corporate lingo to make people feel better. The guy was knee deep in garbage, reeked of Windex and spent hours each night disinfecting those pens attached to the counter with a chain.

He gave it his all here and had some really good wins, so I’ll give him that. But he and his approach had an expiration date the moment he began and we were fortunate to make a move before he took us completely off the rails.

I’d have no problem with him doing some recruiting for us but that’s about it. And if he is coming back, and has access to those lollipops they give out at the bank, I’ll take a red.

I gotta real problem having to sign a credit card authorization when the guy in front of me was sneezing up a storm. I can buy $200.00 of organic chips at Whole Foods and never touch a pen dipped in mucus.
