Doubling down, eh?
Do you page hits or not? If we waited til everything played out completely and appeals were finished, youd have no message board.

I will also double down on saying that the complexion of the class wasn't changed by adding a five-star Chris Steele, only the perception. It would have been changed by adding a five-star defensive tackle, middle linebacker or quarterback.

However the flip side that last class was Butterrific with the loss of Steele (and Jones) is unavoidable. It isn't exactly true however as many of our three stars in the last class were high 3 stars, players other SEC teams wanted, as opposed to low three stars whose only offer was FIU. Moreover Butter's mid-teens recruiting classes also lost a player to fairly quickly.

if you're referring to me fairly soon after it started I said the problem was apparently a staffer, who was fired. I haven't heard too many specifics but there were three football staffers fired around that time.

However he's home sick so he's going to Oregon makes about as much sense as a Florida kid being home sick and going to New Hampshire.

Can't remember exactly which posters it was but it does sound like something you'd do. This thread is way to long to go back and read to see which one of you *******s was full of **** but odds are you were one of those *******s.

Am I right in that he was not formally kicked off the team?
I dont know. Pretty sure he was not with the team or whatever they called it. Mulkinz said he didnt get the full story from the now fired staffer or staffers. Kicked off formally means scholly yanked? Dont think that happened.

Pretty certain Jones left before the University acted but both were assured.

Rumor has it he’s visiting UCLA because there’s less traffic on that side of town and he’ll be able to get home quicker when he gets a yeast infection.

I hope Mullen has learned his lesson. I get the Florida standard thing and we should be able to get the best from anywhere in the country. But, it isn't necessary. With the talent in the south, why the hell are you going to fairy land? And for a corner? Corners are easy to find. For all the time he spent in that dumpster of a state, he could have visited tons of kids in Florida.

Florida's Top 2019 Recruit Has Decided On A Transfer Destination

Another lame ass excuse for hosing the Ducks by committing to USC is he wanted to be closer to his family because........

His mother got laid off from her job. Don't be surprised if he ends up transferring to another school in a year or 2 and ends up being 2nd-3rd string safety. To say Steele is a POS is an understatement.

I'm just waiting for someone in the media to call him out on his BS.

I said it before this kid was homesick and did not adjust to being so far from California. What pisses me off is how some of the media boys slammed Mullen and the program. The guy from SDS Blackmon had a very misleading article saying that Steele was courageous to leave. Total BS which is now evident by his transfer back to USC. Yes Jones had issues and the staff and Mullen should take heat here. However it looks like action was taken early to get rid of him. Steele and his family used the incident to cover for their son's immaturity.

Mullen and staff need to learn lessons here when recruiting the West Coast kids. There is something really different about the left coast inhabitants. If we are going to recruit some 5 star kids we need more eyes, and data on them. Maybe we take Fuchs to interview them. It worked for Kelly. LOL

I really hope this kid gets his head squared away, and with the new open transfer rules we can't afford more of these mistakes.

I don't have anything against him personally.
He seems to be a product of today's generation S for Snowflake Generation. He lacks a sense of purpose and commitment to his personal integrity. Doesn't appear to take accountability for his actions and has parents who enable him, and know how to play social media and the open transfer rules.
That being said he is just a young kid who really doesn't know what he wants. Most of us been there, but some of us with the right mentoring figured it out without all the drama.

Can’t wait till he gets drafted in the NFL and thinks he can transfer to the Rams or Chargers.
