Some rather startling photos in the article, such as McCarty's affiliations with many famous lawmen and outlaws of the old west.
Billy the Kid – Jesse James Photo Album
This article is a part of another pictorial history of the James Gang(s). There were actually 3, all related as cousins, all named Frank and Jesse James

You obviously didn't watch Young Guns II or you would have known.

That isn't the same dude as the others. It's not really even close. Things like ears, eye shape, eyebrow shape, usually nose tip shape, those don't change.

Without looking it seems the articles author said the same thing. Up until a few years ago, the only photograph I was aware existed of The Kid was the one with him standing with the rifle (which is a mirror image by the way)

until two more surfaced, this one was bought at a flea market shows Pat Garrett at far right and Bonney second from left

The point I was so poorly attempting to make in the original post was the fact that the numerous photographs (actually tintypes) in the article shows that so many famous outlaws and lawmen (many cases outlaws and lawmen were the same thing) hung around together through the years.

Not historically correct but what the hell-from back when BJ was a better performer-wasn't some of this borrowed from Paint Your Wagon?

I don't think that Wyatt Earp was revered then as he is today. I seriously doubt he had the juice to setup a fake suicide. After all, he didn't even have the juice to keep the Tucson judges from issuing multiple murder warrants against him. He was actually arrested and tried on the OK Corral ones. I'm not really sure about the others (Stillwell, Curly Bill).
