Quick question about how college football tickets are delivered today.

Background: When I attend games, home or road, I've always just winged it. I'll go to the stadium, have a seat chart with me if I'm not familiar with the stadium, then buy the best ticket for the money I'm willing to spend from a seller ("scalper" offends my Native American sensibilities even though I am not Native American :rotfl:).

Background 2: Last year, I saw us rape the Clowns in their dump. I went with a Clown friend (please don't judge me) who came into tickets from a Clown booster. They were paper tickets.

Background 3: I had planned to attend a Who concert months ago (I saw them at Amalie back in '15. Even though Pete and Roger are ancient, they were friggin awesome.) The tickets online were way more than I wanted to spend, so my plan was to ride to the concert venue and buy from a scalper. However, there was scuttlebutt that all tickets were delivered to your phone and that was the only way to gain entry. Rather than confirm this, I lost interest.

I am thinking of throwing a leg over the bike and heading to a game - possibly in Lexington. I've never been to KY and would enjoy watching payback for last year in their house. Or their kitty crate. Whatever.

So my question is, in this day and age, can we still roll up to a stadium on game day - home or away - and buy a paper ticket from a scalper?

Anytime especially from students...any game you go to ppl yell out they have tickets...most likely on university ave (in GVille) right in front of the stadium...I’m not sure of other venues but when I went to the FSU game last season there were ppl outside the gates doing the same thing...it’s always a possibility

Didn't you need a student ID to use a student ticket a few years ago?

If you wait until after kickoff they usually don’t care

That's a mighty big risk to take on an 8-hour bike ride. Each way.

I looked online briefly on Ticketmaster and man, the Kitties think pretty highly of their foosball team. The tickets are expensive.

The fact that they think they’re gonna win now doesn’t help

Do they have computers and cell phones in Kentucky?

In all seriousness, our season tickets are paper yet also available electronically. I’m sure it’s similar there.

I've got my 1991 NLCS and World Series ticket stubs preserved.

The 25th anniversary SECC game ticket was sweet, clear plastic with all the game MVP's on them, I kept the one with Tebow and Danny on it.

Nothing like a ticket in your hand.

Yes. Absolutely.
