I'm tempted to make this my new Avatar. Spurrier is my favorite Gator/Gator fan of all time. Could you imagine sitting with him during a game? If I had a Make-a-Wish it would be to watch a Florida v Georgia game with him.
Im sure he is thinking I cant cant believe this is my team.

Did he really just run the ball 42 times for 42 yards, then after the game was over and all we needed was to run the clockout, throw a hail mary 9 route?

@FireFoley you're one of the few people I’ve ever seen complain about his game management. Most informed criticism is directed at his coaching hires and recruiting. Maybe want to rethink this one.

Fair enough but I feel I am entitled to my opinions. I have consistently complained that Cousin Eddie is terrible at game management and tend to point at obvious mistakes of his on a weekly basis. I don;t judge my views based on specific results as I take in risk/reward, situations, etc etc. I am much more of a process person in my thinking. Don;t get me wrong I will give credit when and where credit is due, but even going back to last year's regular season, I can only say that the Mizzou game was the only game where Cousin Eddie's handling of the game did not have any direct impact on the flow of the game. I can cite specific examples weekly, b/c they are just so common.

I thought Franks regressed in a lot of ways but one not being discussed is his lack of rushing. The offense clicked last year when he became more willing to run. He hardly ever just tucked it and went unless it was a designed play. I’m going to rewatch but I seriously doubt they spied him that effectively.

I thought this was the case as well. Every read option he handed off except, ironically, the fumble.

At least 2-3 of those read options in the second half they played RB all the way and Franks didn’t take what was given him either time. I thought that was one area that doesn’t require too much intelligence and he’d have done after the way last season ended. Guess not.

Two play calls that raised my blood pressure to stroke level:

1. The fake punt. Yeah it worked but you call that only if you think you are by far the inferior or by far the superior team. Neither applied.
2. The call for a pass on the last interception. Who the hell called that? MY inquiring mind wants to know. Since that call I've seen the ghost of Zook repeatedly during the day and in nightmares. I thought only Zooker was capable of something that stupid. Was this some kind of time warp?

Cover, while you were posting this the Dline just sacked the QB again on his way to the parking lot - while his offensive linemen tried to tackle them.

Whew...bit of a stinker this one. I only saw it live so far, but did it look like to you they got the look they wanted that last putrid interception and Franks just blew it? Looked to me we were baiting the safety with an out to sneak a guy deep. I'm pretty sure it was there too and Too Tall threw it inexplicably into a sea of white.
It would be hard for me to believe that FF audibles to that play or that he would be given the OK to do so. That leaves the decision squarely in the hands of the OC and HC. If we were down 4 with 4 minutes to play I could see us passing the ball, but we had just gotten the ball back. Don't give FF a chance to F it up. Run the damn ball and at worst give them the ball with a long field with 2 minutes or less. Again, beyond dumb IMO. Maybe Mullen knew our D was going to stain their shorts in crunch time and was trying to avoid it? Nah.

As I know you are aware, they are one and the same ;

Nah, I just try to have realistic opinions instead of space cadet opinions.
no one on the planet thinks we have anything other than a mediocre roster.

no commentators mention any us being loaded for a reason.

hello it's hard to find a position group it's even in mediocre shape. running back, wide receiver (who gaf innthis offense) and buck. that's it and frankly the running backs are just mehhh.

Sure. Would like to know if Gonzalez is involved in such strategy.

I know you know C2 , I was just trying to have a chuckle. You're one of the few who can at least understand some of my musings, even if you don;t agree. But in situations like that, why is a strategy even considered? some things are really easy in my eye, kind of like defending a 4th down and 4000 :deadhorse::deadhorse:

Mullinz is absolute garbage 90% of the time.

This is how you have a 33-39 career record.
Coaching at MSU in the SEC West is another way to compile that record. And it’s 38-42, which he might close to 0.500 this year. What will you bray about then? How hungover are you?

What totally blew my mind is the lack of looks and touches both Jefferson and Grimes got. Neither had a target or reception in the first half.
Your point remains the same, but Jefferson was targeted on the very first offensive play last night

at 5-3 or 4-4 every year, it's going to take him several years to get to .500.

I doubt he lasts that long.

we were about halfway through the fourth quarter and we had two wide receiver catches, a PI and that incompletion.

that's Neanderthal play-calling that should make mushchump proud.

Of course a coaches decisions will impact the game - both wins and losses. And right now, that’s led to 11 wins and 3 losses. You implying that last year, with Franks at QB, we could’ve been better if only Mullen wasn’t here? Certainly seemed like an upgrade from the year prior when MacNuss was leading Franks to 4 wins.

I want to give this a face palm and like.
1. I love having an aggressive coach who uses film study to exploit the other team’s weaknesses. That one play call is going to screw with every team on our schedules game planning. It was brilliant. Face palm.
2. Supposedly they saw something and decided to go for the jugular. Problem is... running out the clock wins just as well, is way safer, and doesn’t require trusting Franks. Too aggressive and trusts Franks too much. Like.

Would happen by next season if he goes 5-3. You back to post-Kentucky @Swamp Donkey? Going to start claiming 0-8 again because you’re terrible at predicting? Sit back and relax. He’s not an all time great coach but he’s not bad either.

As I understood CDM post game, he said specifically that he called the play, and, moreover, he specifically wanted to put the game in Franks' hands. ????????
