Can Franks hold on to the Number 1 QB spot?

Mullen is married to his program goals over staying with Franks. He showed that last year. A couple bad Franks showings leading to losses will do the trick.

No one celebrates third in the SEC East like our pumpers.

I never thought Id see the day when being the new South Carolina would satisfy a significant portion of our "fanbase".

The only reason you are crying is because we didn't blow out Miami. Take away a couple of unforced turnovers and this game would have been a blowout anyway. I get it after we lost to UK, but we actually got a W last night, got a lot of film to show this morning to blast the players for poor plays, and hopefully keep them humble. Every team has a ****ty game. Clemson almost lost to Syracuse last season, but they didn't and no body gives a crap about that now.

I'll be right with you on that ledge if we start losing in the Swamp again, or we get humiliated by Kirby Shart.

the real question is how long does Mullins keep the #1.

I think he gets year four unfortunately no matter how bad year 2 and 3.... you know because Muschamp and McElstain were bad too.
Damn dude... guys like you and @FireFoley are what ran off Spurrier. Probably also helped clean out Chump and Butters too but damn... firing a guy after a promising season and ugly defeat of a rival? Maybe give it the rest of the season.

It's never too early to start canvassing the Conference USA options.

Like you said... he’s whining because he was wrong, yet again. Didn’t account for early season offensive sloppiness, Franks being the second coming of Driskel, and underestimating Miami’s defense - all things he was told but chose to ignore.

I forgot how “exciting” it can be when @Swamp Donkey is butt hurt and on the war path. Gonna be a long 3 weeks until Kentucky! I just pray we don’t lose that one again. Can you imagine how he’ll be? Might have to send someone to his house to check his health and well being...

I'm just as guilty. I figured all this momentum we had seemingly built combined with a year to acclimate to Mullen would result in a big win.

Miami always presents matchup problems for us. You can't outrun 'em sideline to sideline and last night they clogged the middle while we called one after another of those weird delayed handoffs three feet from the LOS.

Gotta do what you gotta do. Slay their weakass secondary. We didn't come close.

Hope I'm in the right thread. I definitely think Franks holds it down this year. He's serviceable and I think we'll get more push in the run game going forward. Franks cant carry us. We've got to be able to run it better.Miami's front 7 was pretty decent.

Franks will hold it down for another year. It should be a pretty solid situation for EJ to step into next year.

I never understood the overconfidence. I’ve seen too much Franks to trust anything related to him. And Diaz is a talented defensive dude. Y’all just need to be more realistic with your expectations.

In the military, one of the greatest differences between a good and great leader are those who can analyze their own weaknesses and limitations. Both can dissect the enemy well - it’s easy to criticize someone else. Only the great ones look inward and understand what they can and can’t do with an honest evaluation of the unit. I’m not necessarily good at it but I know an extreme liability when I see it. Franks and the OL, not to mention the safeties, will continue to cap any progress we might make this season. Mark my words.

He needs to run the ball. Miami started crashing the RB in the second half every time. Dudes just not that good at Mullen’s offense.

Well, yes and no re expectations. It's early and this may prove to be a blip. On the other hand, you're looking within for signs of progress, of improvement. It's a week to week thing.

Didn't like the signs last night. There'll be many game resets as we move along.

I didn’t either. Tackling was disappointing. PIs and PFs were disappointing, especially late. I had really hoped 3rd and Grantham would be mitigated by a second year in his system but alas, it seems even worse. Thankfully, we get an extra week plus a cupcake to prepare for Kentucky and the SEC slate. Most is correctable, even though it’s disappointing that it reared it’s ugly head in the first place.
