It's not as hot at Noon as it is at 3:30, although the alumni side gets in the shade quicker. The student side is in the sun until very late in the day. The agreement between the SEC, ESPN, CBS and the SEC Network requires all schools to abide by the way start times are determined. I don't think there's a lot of leeway for an AD to refuse to accept an assigned start time without jeopardizing their shared revenue at the end of the season. In any event, back in the 60's and 70's, almost all start times were at 1 pm and very few Gator games were on TV. So you either went to the game or listened on the radio. I've been to a ton of games in my lifetime, but don't go hardly at all anymore. Would just rather sit in my recliner and watch the big screen from noon to midnight. At least with a noon start people can get home in time to watch football the rest of the day. Doesn't do any good to complain anyway. Money talks.
