Had a great time in the Swamp today. About pulled my hair out watching us almost give the game away again and again though. But the joint was certainly jumpin'. The whole day just had that big time game feel and excitement that you only get with these special games. Just walking through the concourse and stadium before the game you could see by the looks on people's faces that Gator Nation was really ready for this one. Stood and yelled most of the game and am horse enough to prove it. Still some empty seats all game up top on the student side and of course the ones who came were late getting to the game.

My seats are 11 rows up behind the recruits so I get a pretty good view of who's walking around. I saw some really huge kids down there. It's truly amazing humans can grow that large in only 17 or 18 years. Those kids got a great taste of what the real Swamp is all about and what it can be. I hope it earns us some commitments.

Loved seeing Mullen run around the stadium after the game and then watched him get mauled by a bunch of middle aged dudes in the South Endzone. Not sure, but I think they were a bunch of Bull Gators. Anyway, all and all a great day to be a Gator!

Thanks for screaming for us, brother.

Did you feel like we were giving the game away? I never did. I just felt like we didn't put them away as soon as we could.

It is a good day to be a Florida Gator.

Sec 325, Sunshine Seats, loud even up that high. One thing that struck me is it was consistently loud, every single defensive down, no lulls. Voice is shot so bad I couldn't use voice to text to type this.

My daughter (that graduated last year) got tickets down low on the student side, and she said “it was like the pick 6 vs LSU...the entire game”.

Looks like we had a real home field advantage again. If you were there, tell us about it.

Discuss.

I was at the game. My seats are in the Evan's Champions Club and the seats were rocking with the cheering. Literally, the seats were rocking... I have had these seats for 4 seasons now and never experienced the seats rocking and swaying like yesterday. The Swamp was LOUD and the East Stands and North Stands were almost completely full, with very few empty seats. Yesterday was consistently the loudest it has been since Urban was here winning Natty's...The noise was deafening at times and caused several Auburn penalties Definitely, a great game atmosphere as a Gator fan and Alum!

Walking around campus before the game, it was PACKED.

I second everything said but, will add the students need a shout out, they were loud and seemed to have a hell of a time. I would think every student there would want to get some more of that.

On Auburn’s opening play the Tiger fan next to me was plugging her ears and it (I) never let up. At halftime the AU grad we were with said “damn, this place loud!”. There was great energy all day, awesome to see The Swamp rocking like the old days.

It’s just a shame we’re not home again for a month. LSU at home next week would have been insane!

I sometimes doubted you were really an author, but nevermore after this masterpiece.

“Nevermore”. I see what u did there. Subtle, so respect.

Your doubt is well placed. I pay the bills with erotic screenplays, but the hardcore stuff I put into verse.

Absolutely. Sas mentioned Ole Miss. if your not going too far back, that’s the best choice but it was not as down to down loud as this. There may be others, but my closest was 99 Tennessee for non-stop fever pitch noise (with 4th down somehow turning the dial up more than if figured possible).

I was thinking the same. It was a party in the student section and the hype music some hate was better timed and chosen to keep the students going bonkers. Hopefully that carries over when we get back in the Swamp and again for FSU (regardless of how bad it was). Can’t wait to hear the recruits reactions and takeaways.

I keep saying nothing kills a crowd more than a defense that can't get off the field, even more than turnovers as evident yesterday. Knowing your defense can get the ball back either through a 3 and out or a turnover keeps a crowd hyped.

Had a friend on the sideline yesterday he said those guys were not Gators but friends of Dan. But everyone was going nuts apparently Dan was hugging and high-fiving everyone. Emmitt, Percy, recruits all apparently had a great time.

Interesting point....I would love to hear what those two(and other other former players in attendance) had to say about the game. Percy could relate a little more about the loudness I would guess as he was exposed to that during Urban....and Emmitt's days during the 80's were loud often times for some big games....but on tv IMO, it was more reminiscent of the 90's with SOS. During those SOS years, it seemed like EVERY game had that same intensity--and I don't think Urban's years really matched it for consistency. Lots of good ones no doubt, but ALL of SOS were that way. (I really miss the 90's)

On a side note---the loudest I ever heard BHG was the Kerwin Limp back in 86....against Auburn nonetheless. A few games approached it in intensity of course, but the 2-pt limp still takes top spot for me. And that was before the stadium was closed in. Comparisons best left for another day, another thread....this game is the focus now.
