@BruceFeldmanCFB: RE: that report that FSU's top potential target is Urban, FSU AD to the Talla. Democrat:"If Coach were hit by a bus tomorrow, we would not target CoachMeyer, period. I say that w all due respect to CoachMeyer but we would not target SteveSpurrier either."

Translation: They already inquired and Meyer told them he doesn't slum it.

Meyer is like a fan in a lot of ways. In his years here, he learned to hate FSU as much as we did - wouldn't even mention them by name. In other words, he would NEVER take a job with FSU or UGA.
Not to mention he seems to be lobbying to get in the ring of honor.

Believe it or not, I could actually see Kelly. He may very well have realized that he can make the playoff in a perfect storm season, but that's it. The academic restrictions he faces at ND will always prevent him from going any further. Add that to the fact that he's entered virtually every year for a decade on a "warm seat", and he may decide he's tired of that and that it's time for something different. Similar landscape, knows the opponents and could probably do fairly well.

If Kelly to FSU, then Meyer to ND, his dream school.

Would-be Cowboys candidate Urban Meyer can scratch Florida State off his list

Via Yahoo Sports, Florida State Athletic Director David Coburn told the Tallahassee Democrat on Tuesday that the former Bowling Green, Utah, Florida, and Ohio State coach will not take over the FSU progam, if the school moves on from Willie Taggart.

“If Coach [Taggart] were hit by a bus tomorrow, we would not target Coach Meyer, period,” Coburn said. “I say that with all due respect to Coach Meyer.”

I guess Meyer is just not good enough for them.

More trouble in clowntown

"Various people I trust with connections. If you want someone that I can source Bud Elliot talks about it in his podcast today, but the other people make it seem much worse. I think it’s worse than Bud says, cause he doesn’t wanna freak people out. But Kendal apparently got into a screaming match with Willie in a meeting and voiced his desire to leave the program, or something like that"

I like how the AD casually uses a bizarre, gruesome hypothetical about his head coach’s potential demise...and then wants to clear up any possible perceived disrespect to Meyer.

Clearly a Freudian Slip. It’s evident Coburn is keeping a mental list of ways to remove Slick Willie without paying his buyout. If I were Taggle, I’d triple check and sprint when using a crosswalk.

What he really means is that he sincerely hopes Willie gets hit by bus so they don't have to fire him.

That’s fine with me. I don’t think he’s that great of a coach. There are other candidates that I’d be more concerned with taking the job.
