Yeah....I’ll have to go shopping....
YouTube TV looks like the next best option.
I've started looking once I saw they said it was for sale.

My stepdad has YouTube TV and my mom doesn't seem to have any issues with it so I will find out more from him if there is anything wonky about it. If not I will test it out.
Worst case, I take advantage of cheap promo rates from Spectrum and start playing the back and forth game.

I’m not a Google fan, so I’m not sure...maybe Hulu or Sling....they’re probably all bastards

I don't care for sling.
We get Hulu for free because of mobile phones, but not the live tv service. I don't hate the UI for regular Hulu so maybe I should look into their live tv.
From what I've seen, YouTube TV has all the channels we would want that our PS Vue plan has except maybe one or two and they aren't watched anyway.

I’m still waiting for true a la carte service, like we’ve been promised.

We had the PlayStation service for maybe 3 months and they started playing a rate game with us so we switched to YouTube TV. Liked the YouTube TV a lot better, just the way it's presented is very intuitive and you can share an account easily with a bunch of other people.

Only thing I'm not a big fan of is that you can't DVR an individual episode of a show, only the entire series. But storage is unlimited, so no issue.

Yeah, I don't really know about a guide on there... don't think there is one. Just a search to save future programming, but I think you have to search for it by name or category. In typical Google fashion, it's pretty creepy... the "home" tab almost always highlights the thing I'm turning it on to watch. Like, the top 5 things in the "home" list are the five most interesting shows or games... it even knows to keep the volleyball games within reach, because sometimes... uh... friends come over who watch girls volleyball.

:lol2:

Is there at least a channel list, even if it is just alphabetical order?

Oh yeah, definitely. You can set it up in the order you want and can disable the ones you don't care about so you don't have to scroll through them... I wipe out the Spanish and shopping channels, but just realized I have a bunch of others blocked I didn't even realize like the ACC Network. Wouldn't mind having that in case I ever get an urge for some high school FB.

That's good to know.
PS Vue has a "favorites" which groups the main ones you want so you don't have to scroll through them, but this method could work too.

The one thing I do wonder, with this move, Sony could do what Microsoft has done and open up their consoles to allow all the other streaming services on their device.

Would make it where I don't need to get another fire stick or something lol

Not that I am aware of, on Playstation.

You can get regular YouTube, but not the TV app.
You can also get regular Hulu, but not the live tv, that I am aware of.
One would think that will change however I am sure those gears will turn slowly as they weren't smart enough to make simple changes that would have kept them out of this situation to begin with.

could be....that would suck...I see all of the apps, I guess I just assumed...you would think if they’re getting out of the business, they’d open it up...

Alright fellas...need some takes on YouTube TV and Hulu TV.
Who has either, and what are your thoughts?

Still have to look into sling.

Sling TV is good $25 plus $10 gets you sports package which includes like every football game in the country. ESPN 3 ESPNU sec network acc pac 12 it's incredible . Just no big 10 network only because they are super greedy. unless you spend $100 you finally get big 10 network.

I tried the free trials on all of them. We went with YouTubeTV and second place wasn't that close. We also do Philo because we need Nickolodeon for the kids. Total cost = $72/mo.

YouTube's DVR capabillity can't be beaten by any other service. 9 month retention of recordings and unlimited space. By comparison, Sling doesn't allow you to record ESPN channels at all including SEC Network. GTFOH. On YTTV, I just tell it to get all the Gator games and it does it saved in its own folder.
