...we need to send the the freaking national guard. Look, I get it, Bama is good. Maybe they are the 2nd best team in the country. Heck, maybe they beat LSU 4 out of 5 times. Who freaking cares? In the end, they will be sitting at home getting a virtual bye while LSU has to put their playoff berth on the line an extra game. The whole thing is a freaking travesty.

To me the fix for this is simple: Eliminate divisions within conferences. Figure out who the two best teams in each conference are and put them both in the CGs without regard for the divisions we have now. The divisions were put in place by the SEC during the first season of championship game play in order to generate a compelling title matchup. Because there was no CFB playoff, it didn't really matter if the 2nd best team was in the game or not as long as the best team in the conference was playing, it still worked. Not anymore.

And lets face it, playing Vandy, Kentucky, SCar, and Mizzou every year is stupid. We should have 2 SEC rivals such as UGA and LSU to play every season, and then round-robin the rest of the conference so we don't go 5 years or more between matchups with west teams. If my math is correct, you would play the non rivals 2 out of every three years, so there would never be more than a year off from playing any one team in the conference.

In any event, we can all see what's going to happen AGAIN. Bama is going to sit out the SECCG and waltz into the playoff like they do, and at least have a decent shot at winning the whole thing again after failing to win their division much less conference. FREAKING STUPID!

And before somebody chimes in with "well they are one of the 4 best teams" I say so what! The essence of sports is precisely that the best team doesn't always win. Nobody would ever watch the games if there weren't upsets and cinderella stories. Winning a title isn't a math problem, its human drama played out in real time on the field. The big moment comes and no matter how good you are or how crappy you are, you either make the play or you don't.

I think if the league had moved Barn to the East during the last expansion, then there would be more equal divisions. It wouldn't bother me though if they did eliminate divisions like you have proposed. Change will happen in some fashion in a few years I believe.

Let them in if they are top 4. Simple as that. But totally agree on divisions - eliminate them so each conference puts its best teams up. At least it would reduce the chances of this happening.

I don't think Bama should be punished because people are sick of watching them. Top 4 teams should go based on wins, SOS, and of course, the eye test. It's not an exact science. I'm thankful its a 4 team playoff and people who complain about who should be 4 vs 5 are silly to me because neither would have ever had a snowballs chance in hell at an NC a few years ago.

Best 4 teams go.

I think Bama has a tough time making it in unless all the other teams schit the bed. SEC Champ gets in unless it has 2 loses. If Georgia wins the SEC and LSU only has that one loss, I think they both make it. I think pOSU, Clemson and PAC-12 Champ if they only have 1 loss.

But aren't they supposed to select the "four best" teams ,and not the "4 most deserving" teams. Listen, I really don't want to see Bama weasel in again either, but if things break their way, they'll definitely get in. Just going to be hard to argue that a one loss Oklahoma, Oregon, or any other one loss non SEC team is better than Bama.

Fvkk off and die.

If Bama wants to go to the playoff then they should win the first round of their playoff, last week in Tucscaloosa.

You shouldn't be eligible to be national champion unless you are your conference champion, ever. These fake championships are farces.

Unless those 1 loss teams are Conference Champs.

You really think a one loss Oklahoma or Oregon conference champion is better than Bama? Like I said earlier, is it supposed to be the "4 best" or "4 most deserving"? I can't see the "4 best" not including a one loss Bama team. People on here worried about Bama getting in, I just don't want to see the Dawgs get in, as long as they don't get in, then I don't care which 4 get in.

If gators had beat LSU and lost to UGA and then won out or beat lsu and UGA and lost to bama, and someone like a 1 loss Oregon team got in over us I bet you would be singing a different tune.

Fvkk every one of you who are trying to ruin college football.
Clemson, OSU, and FSU ruin college football. Don’t play a breathing team all year, rest your starters through every second half, then come out fresh against teams that have been beaten up by better competition. It’s ridiculous. Clemson is playing a UCF-level schedule. If you think they deserve in over any 1 loss SEC team, you’re an idiot that hates CFB. Or you and @78 are too deep in your UCF boostership to see what makes sense.

It should be the conference champions playing for it all. The only problem is teams like Notre Dame will never join a conference and then would probably split from the ncaa then all chaos would ensue. SAS voting for Trump, swonkey cheering Mullen, jboss carrying on a adult conversation, Urg being tall. Just crazy stuff

The other time they made it they had quality wins to offset the one loss. Not this time, their best win right now is A&M. The best win they possibly can have is against a 9-2 Barn if Barn can beat UGA.

They aren't going.

Fun! Like @FireFoley not using hindsight to prove something he may or may not have said. Or @oxrageous thinking of a more original comeback than “you’re banned/take a vacation”. Or @Captain Sasquatch thinking for himself. Or @Slevin wearing men’s clothes. Or @Mr2Bits being right about a prediction. Or @Bushmaster taking troop discipline seriously instead of excusing everything #newarmy. Or @stephenPE withholding participation trophies just once. Or @Zambo not filming himself on a flight for the FAs to see. Or @jmskjrgator making a coherent post - perv. Or @Marine1 not defending a crappy “leader” because he met him once.

I’m sure I missed some. Name/city/preference of pronouns/favorite Trump accomplishment if you wish to opine, am I right, @QueenCityGator.

The CFP Committee is who determines the rankings. In other words, there’s a human factor to the formula and I believe they would keep Bama out in an effort to not repeat what happened a couple years ago if there are other 1 loss Conf. Champs. I’m not worried about Bama one way or the other. I’m just stating an opinion of what I think would happen.

Regardless, a lot of football left to be played. Unfortunately I’m not really invested in it or watching since our Gator are eliminated and the season is over.

Good point on their quality of wins not being good.
