If FSU was smart, they'd let him have the interim title until they get a new President/AD. Similar to the Urban/OSU situation. Give it a year and let the timing work out.

That’s what I’m hearing. I’m hearing that that’s part of the discussion.

How can you recruit with an interim coach? What kid is going to want to walk into that completely unknown situation?

He told me that the reason they were looking at doing it is because they didn’t want a situation where a president and an AD had a coach that they did not want.

I think it’s ridiculous as well

In fairness, it worked out pretty well for Ohio St. They let Fickell dick around in 2011 as interim coach, then landed Urban the next year and got a natty out of it.

Yeah, but OSU has a monopoly on the recruiting in that area. FSU doesn't have that advantage.

Kids in that area of the country dream about growing up to play for the Buckeyes. No kid is dreaming of becoming a Nole.

Haggins has been there since like the 90's, he'll likely be there on the next coaching staff. I believe he's been a decent recruiter for them.

The new coach will show Haggins the door....publicly. If I'm a new coach there I want the rotting deadwood taken out with the trash....literally. I would have Haggins escorted out and placed right where they put the trash cans for pickup. Whether or not you actually place him inside a receptacle can be left up to management....but I would vote yes.

Then fire his ass for cause and make him sue if he doesn't like it.

I just posted that schedule and almost barfed because I realized they qualified to play in a bowl game with today's win. I was really hoping we could crush those hopes next weekend.
Hope they enjoy their trip to the Idaho Potato Bowl where it’s going to be about 10 degrees.

Can't attract recruits using an interim HC-CEO ?
They've got about 3 weeks when non-bowling HCs could be contacted, but who wants a new HC that can't make a bowl game.
So IMO, FSU will not have an HC until around Dec. 31st, if they are going after an HC who has created a bowl-worthy program.??
Thus it sure seems like we could flip any recruit of theirs due to all the turmoil? Seems to me 2 flips would be reasonable. Of course, we'd want that recruit to fill our needs and to be 4* or 5*.

Hard to say what FSU does here beyond wait more. The teams beaten under Haggins’ watch aren’t worth the paper their media guides are printed on.

However, and this is a big one, Haggins has won over the locker room in short order. He’s done away with the “swag surfing” ritual before kickoffs and instilled more of a professional attitude on the sideline. The players insist they’re playing harder. He’s a notoriously solid recruiter. He’s a member of the FSU Hall of Fame and highly respected with its fans.

So what does FSU do? They wait on the results of the Florida game and then decide. Why wouldn’t they? What better litmus test of what he’s done so far? An improbable upset win cements Haggins as the permanent permanent. A highly competitive effort likely does the same.

Less than that? It’s likely back to Square One for FSU.

FSU is losing a lot to graduation. 18 sr's. 5 4*s and a 5*
23 jr's. 5* Cam Acres is gone if he knows what's good for him, And 5* Marvin Wilson.
Their Jr class is sick. If they don't croot this year they're gonna be in trouble next year. I doubt they take a full class this year. And will have to fill it out with 3*s.

OSU had Urban locked up within 2 weeks of Tressel leaving. It just wasn't announced until late in the season, when they could make a splash and still recruit. This would be a totally different scenario.
