I'm with Ox... I think we've gotta make sure Dan never gets Tonya Harding's number.

If anyone, including Dan, thinks our current issue is the QB position, they are retarded. Even Tebow needed the Pounceys, Percy and the serial killer just have a chance. EJ ain't the answer to get us over the good-to-great hump.

I hope and pray FF leaves. To where? Seriously don't care.

I think Trask stays and likely starts, but unless we see significant OL improvement, along with incredibly significant improvement on the defense... we'll prob look about the same.

With any luck, hopefully all of our rivals will have a really down year, and we somehow reap the benefits. It seems, according to some here, it was the only way Spurrier ever won anything.

I believe Trask stays and starts next year. It’s pretty obvious that Franks is gone. I think Mullen is definitely wanted to go toward a more duel threat guy, but there’s no way you can send Trask packing. Considering what he’s done with this offensive line, it’s been beyond impressive. I think EJ has tons of talent, but I don’t know if he’d be ready to take everything on next year. I could be wrong. At the end of the day, it just feels good to have some talent at the QB position again.

Yeah, a couple people have pretty much implied that if Spurrier had coached UF now instead of the 90's, he'd pretty much have been the Chimp, and fired. SOS was really just a mediocrity that got lucky in a down SEC. The only decent team he ever played crushed him every time. He couldn't hold a candle to Blobby.

Yeah... I guess he was really just a product of his time...

I drunk post sometimes too but not usually this early.

No one even came close to predicting this. Spurrier is a HOFer, regardless of time period. But acknowledging the timing as fortunate is fact too. Same with Meyer. Who was up when Meyer got here? Great ones take advantage of their circumstances and excel. Mullen actually has pretty favorable circumstances too but they’re tougher and he hasn’t taken care of his best chance - namely UGA this year.

Mullen did everything he could to not start Trask this year and the prior year. I see no reason to believe that will change next year. I think Mullen is as stubborn as Chimp and Butters and will bend over backwards to play EJ or Franks.

just a reminder that Trask was named the starter last year after Franks bad loss to Mizzeri, but he broke his leg and had to miss the remainder of the season.

I remember that. But Franks had pretty much been the same Franks all season before Missouri. It just feels to me like Butters and Grier.

Combo blocks and climbing to the next level my ass!!! I'd be happy if one of these lard asses just leaned on the guy in front of him instead of seeing them standing around 2 yards deep in our backfield looking at our crumpled up RB laying on the ground next to them....:headslap:
That's my point.

It was also the point an NFL guy was making about a certain terrible NFL team today. The coach had switched from izzies and ozzies to more conventional blocking, isos, powers, counters etc. It just makes it easier on the struggling lineman to know what they are going to do before the ball is snapped instead of "feeling" which OL keeps the DL and which one climbs in a combo block.

Same people who say "the SEC was down" can't explain how the SEC dominated the other conferences in bowls.

Provide stats.
Never mind, did it for you. 33-23 for the SEC sounds great... except that was built on the back of an amazing run from 96-97. Those two seasons produced a 10-1 bowl record. Really impressive but indicates the rest of the 90s was a 50-50 proposition. Hardly dominating. Stop making things up.

If you expect the rest of the Gator Nation to fall in line behind you trashing Spurrier and claiming he was just the result of a down era, you may be disappointed.
