I read a lot of stuff. Always have. Read this today.

I'm sitting here looking at the CFP rankings and I can't help to see, if Penn State losses to Ohio State (which I believe happens) you then have Oregon or Utah losing in the Pac 12 Championship game, which means Florida would at least move up to #8 after the regular season and conference Championship games. Just think, if the CFP is moved to an 8 game format Florida would be in based on this year's schedules. Now granted Dan Mullen has some work to do, but the point is, he's taken a Florida team that really has seen no offense over the past 8 seasons before he got here and turned them into a team that continues to fight and put themselves in the game to win. Doing all that while rebuilding recruiting pipelines in the state and taking the fullest advantages of a fairly slim depth chart with a very young roster. Just imagine what things are gonna look like moving forward going into 2020, 2021, and 2022. With so many facility upgrades happening in that time and Mullen getting the guys he wants and needs on this roster, just think about what those teams are gonna look like! A lot fans wanting instant success and complaining about where we are, is it really that bad? I mean in all honesty, isn't really! These past 2 seasons have been an instant success IMO, especially when you look at the roster limitations! 10 wins first year with a Peach Bowl victory, and his second year with a chance to hit 11 wins, the only other teams that are having more success are Alabama, Goergia, Ohio State, and Clemson. And Georgia lost their bowl game last year....‍♂️

And lets face it, those teams have at least 2 to 4 more years of better recruited talent over Florida the past 5 years!

I know the fans who are here In All Kinds of Weather! But for those that want to complain about everything, step back and take a look at where we were between 2010 to 2017! Then take a look at the things that are happening up in Tallacrappy, Miami, Tennessee, USC (Both California and South Carolina), Michigan, and that's just to name a few! Not to mention the highly sought after coaches of Chip Kelly, Scott Frost, Willie Taggart, Jeremy Pruitt, and Jimbo Fisher! Go look at Dan Mullen's record versus their's, and that's with Mullen having to play a stronger schedule of opponents!

If you don't think we are looking better, then go root for a team that you think is better, because we need everyone in #TheSwamp next Saturday night being the most obnoxiously loud hostile crowd this year to support our Seniors and our Florida Gators as we go against our up the road in-state rival, because the last time we beat them in our house was 2009!! So bring that relentless effort that Dan Mullen preaches about, show up early, and let's get this dub on November 30th and help lead these Gators to victory number 10 on the season, because that my friends is one helluva a regular season to accomplish that feat!! All for the Gator Stand Up and Holler.......GO GATORS !!
I guess he has not heard about the ceiling Dan has now hit his head on, the five stars that are a must and that our dwag def. coach is the worst in of CFB.

He's a pumper all right, and he makes some good points. Mullen's track record also speaks for itself. He's a huge upgrade over butters, and although we squeaked in to the Top 10 on NSD, with the ones not making class,we fell back in to the teens. So unless we hire some kick ass recruiters, I don't see how this staff will land enough elite talent to play for all the marbles. His x's & o's aren't out of this world mystifying, plus his system requires a QB like a Tebow or Dak,

There is no home run hire out there. We have Mullen, he's a Gator, wants to be here, and is having success. He'll be here for the next 3 seasons, so, let's see if he can land the players he needs to get us playing for championships.

Go Gators

If it were an 8 team playoff field we would get in to just get crushed by those with more talent....just like getting to the SEC championship game. Im not a pumper nor am i a negator, but just trying to be real here. We need better talent before making the playoffs means a damn thing.

So what this article is putting forth is that if their was an 8 game playoff we would be in it. Similar to be the last game that was available in the BCS format. Did anyone really care about the 4th game in the BCS format?

The point is, at worst Dan is a great coach to bring some stability and respectability back to the program after almost a decade of futility. You have to be a pure hater to not admit that he is at least accomplishing that. Maybe that is his ceiling, but at best he could be the next great coach in our history. If he bridges the next 3-4 years till the facilities come online with 10 win seasons and a respectable product on the field, we should be happy with that. A hell of a lot better than the previous years. And as much as you might bitch and moan, he is not going anywhere for the next 3 years at least (have you looked at next year's schedule?). So why not enjoy the ride and some stability? Be critical when its deserved but keep perspective. Some folks write with so much angst on here.

The complaining I see is not so much where we are now compared to the last 8 years but the signs that we are not heading to being much better or that Mullen has a cap. Two different conversations.

But, if I am on a boat ride in a beautiful jungle, yet I recognize there is waterfall ahead, sorry if I refuse to just lay back and not try to row to the shore while others sip boat drinks watching the parrots fly by.

Aw cat person. But seriously, they are related, because like it or not we locked in to this coach, so any evaluation of his performance has to be measured against recent history. And I think you can better argue that previous coaching staffs were heading down the river to a waterfall. If you think this coaching staff is heading toward a waterfall then you are implying that the program is worse off than previous. I haven't seen anything egregious to suggest that this is an absolute train wreck of a staff. Are there issues absolutely, but in my opinion the culture and general feeling about the program is much better off than before. Also my opinion is that if in two years he still hasnt beaten Georgia and we have decent but not great recruiting and we have only won 10 games/year and the new football palace comes online and we decide to make a change I think we are in good shape.

CU-UF, what is worse... having a coach you know if a failure and swinging again. Or hanging on to a coach you know is a good coach, but know you are never going to compete for a title? If you say the later, I hope you never made fun of Georgia for holding on to Mark Richt. With this schedule and in todays environment, 10 wins is like 9 wins 20 years ago... it's 2/3 loss season. That at the end of the day isn't good enough.

I was going to be more precise but I couldn’t bear to think of a thread here getting off track by discussions of beer choice, ice VS neat, bourbon vs scotch, etc, and I figured the jungle setting suggested rum regardless.

The waterfall you think you hear is just the pitter patter of a light rain in the jungle.

Coach, I'm known for being a pumper and I almost gave you like. But any defense of our swag defensive coach deserves a dislike.

Edit: dwag instead of swag.

It may not be good enough to many of us, but the big question is it good enough for the administration?
Personally, I think we ride it out with Dan until the facilities are complete. Reevaluate at that time and if you feel you have a better prospect, you pull the trigger.
