How many of you prefer fine seafood vs. a fine steak (i.e. expensive restaurant)? I'm not a huge steak person, I like it, but I honestly enjoy a good cheeseburger just as much. I love a good Florida lobster (warm water lobster), and prefer that to a good steak.
For Veteran's Day, Fogo de Chao had a 50% off deal for veterans. Me and some buddies went. Really, really good. But i just couldn't imagine paying full price for that.
I, too, love a good cheeseburger. I’m pretty easy to please. I also love good seafood. Lobster and/or crab (Maine lobster, Alaskan king crab legs or stone crab claws) are at the top of my list. The problem I have is access to high quality seafood in Atlanta is limited and even when I am close to the ocean the prices are even higher than the price of a really good steak. Atlanta prices are even worse.
As far as Fogo, that place is amazing! My biggest gripe is the salad bar is kick azz, too, but I never want to eat it because I save all my appetite for the meat. One day I’m going to hit Fogo at lunch and do the salad bar only just to try it.
Courtesy tip for anybody passing through Atlanta looking for good seafood. There is a place about a mile from the airport off Virginia Ave. called Spondivits. It’s a little hole in the wall. They have some really good seafood (including fresh shucked oysters if that’s your thing). If you have a long layover or are in town and want to grab lunch before flying back out, give it a try. It’s really good (but not cheap).
