Last night, our Gators added another layer of Seminopes - FSU not competitive by any means.{FSU is approaching a McElame invalidity.}
40-17, made it seem closer than it was. We had huge individual play breakdowns by letting their WRs get clear behind us. (silly stuff)
Still, the Gator running game has to get better next game & next year. Help Trask out.
Does anyone have any stories identifying Trask giving "in the huddle or sideline' vociferous leadership?? You know, fiery motivator?
I know Trask has inspired us fans without effusive emotion, with just calm resolve. Weren't you all calm throughout?
I too hope Grimes comes back to be a dominating SEC WR. Plus hope some of the Gators we have and some incoming break out to stardom.
Well, our on-field performance should attract plenty of recruits. Perfect when we crush somebody in our bowl game.

Trask strikes me as being closer to a Danny-esque leader than a Tebow-esque leader.

I knew sow was bad, but wow. Grantham D continues to feast on crappy teams while dodging the deep ball TD.

I wanted to hang a lot more on them, but it was a CDM senior day production. Can’t fault that. The games have a bizarre feel, we are moving the ball but the team looks like they are sleeping, absent a few plays.

I guess now we can focus on bitching about recruiting for a month :)

Remember the old T-shirt from like 79 or 80, the Gators are up and coming!

Go Gators!

C2, I expected a win but a much closer battle. Glad to be wrong. Now, we beat UM and FSU in the same year. That HAS to translate into recruiting...right?
Always good to be atop the state's big three, especially since the chance to play UM only comes every so often. I guess there's always the feeling in the back of my mind that F$U will pull something that might catch us by surprise and make it a game when the odds are in our favor. But this wasn't to be the case. Not that I really thought they would pull the upset, but their lack of poise and discipline, which will most likely be piled on Taggart, rendered null any possibilities that could have formed. As you suggest, all of this should help in recruiting.

One other note...it was too bad that Chauncey wasn't in attendance. He could've alerted the Nole$ that they left Jefferson uncovered on his first TD catch. After all, he's noticed things like this before.

At least you missed the announcers who couldn't tell Florida from Florida State. I haven't heard that from a crew since the 80's.

It's just good to see us develop into a top level SEC team again after wandering in the wilderness for a few too many years. WE're in shape, disciplined and well coached. Hopefully we can upgrade the recruiting and start winning our share of championships again.

Thanks as always Cover.

I think from a technical view Jefferson was the best route runner and such however Swain and Hammond were the guys who "just get open"...
I like Grimes for his physicality and athletic ability and hope he stays because I think he needs another year to polish route running and stop relying on his strength and speed to get open...he could be a superstar if he puts it all together.
Swain & Hammond will be late round draft picks that somehow find their way to the Patriots and each catch 60 in a year for TB.

I am fine with the O-Line staying as is through the bowl, because I do not want to waste White's redshirt. But, please get Heggis the F%^& out of the lineup. Now that the season is over, go back and watch this kid. In the past we made fun of Halapio as a matador lineman. Heggie makes Halapio look like an All American. All year long the kid just misses blocks and falls down like a 10 year old playing pop warner.

Those are the type of guys that stay around the league 10-12 years and make a good living even if they don’t get the accolades. Clutch when a big catch is needed. I hope they both have long careers.

BTW I know it was mostly target practice but I am pleased with EJ's passing progression.....hell he even looked like he is finally over jitters coming into the game(remember he had a hard time handling the ball last year)I know a lot of posters didn't like Mullen pulling Trask for plays earlier this season BUT there is no denying EJ has made improvements.
If it helps keep him around through next year, I'm all for it.

I'm with you on the "move back you suck" thing. Not a fan.

The new facility video was so noticeably brief and non specific it was kind of embarrassing. It was almost comical in it's self consciousness. Like the administration was saying, "See, there it is. Now shut up."

I thought we played as if we knew from the start we'd kick their ass and wanted to have some fun with it. But it got a little too cute at times (fake punt anyone?).

Toney needs to be fed those Percy sweeps and underneath crossing routes at least a half dozen times a game.

We are going to sorely miss Grennard. Very sorely.

Still leaving ourselves in too many 3rd and long situations it seems.

Our DBs aren't scaring anyone. They were smoked a few too many times for comfort.

After the third consecutive sack on Mr. Bones I almost felt sorry for him.......almost.

All in all a good night in the Swamp. Great party atmosphere. I believe I sang the best rendition of "I Won't Back Down" out of all 89,409.

I attended the game and have now watched the replay twice. I couldn’t be happier!!!

I also look forward to this thread each week. This one one was as good as it gets.
