Since you lurk here you know what is going on. If you don't come here and take a :kiffin: each day on some part of our program you love losing. That is a given. If you cannot dissect every play, showing how ignorant Mullen or the "dwag" is you are not paying attention and truly understand how skklllfckdd we are. We could have easily beaten uga in yr two except for poor play calling. We only play two teams now and even Jboss and I could coach up 9-10 wins a year. Our facilities lag behind GHS and Buchholz in Gainesville.

Being a slow one it finally occurs to me that that Threat is probably top 3 when it comes to explaining our negativity in here. And that he is close to genius in his analysis of said cretins. My immediate problem with him is I cant remember if we get along or he has a low opine of me.
NTTATWWT. I would say YOU need to post more but probably have WAY more sense than I or many posters here and use your time more wisely. Welcome aboard, AFC. :pumper::pumper:Unite.
I love you corch, but like a wayward child you drive me nuts.

Bottom line is that we all suffered miserably from 2009-2018. The pain of UF football was like trying to pass a kidney stone for 9 years. We laughed, we cried and we punched the walls but still no relief. Until now. All the while the ‘chatter was our pain killer. Lets hope our relief is not temporary.

Go Gators!!!

The greatest advice you'll ever hear is this: the people who don't matter... don't f*cking matter.

Too many people in the world are worried about what others think. Who cares? If they weren't there when you were born or married, or planning to be there when you're on your deathbed, it's just an opinion. We've got tons of those here. No use in getting riled up over them. Stick around long enough, and you may actually end up calling a few of us friends. Even the ones you disagree with.

This is hands down the best Gator site on the internet. A lot of passionate people in here, all with the same hope: another national championship for the Gators. Speak your piece, stand by it, and have fun. Welcome aboard.

PS - Dan Mullen is a mediocre coach, who has hit his ceiling... maybe.

I was a longtime lurker as well that finally jumped in during the disaster that was Mac.

I can relate, my Butters hate drove me to my first post, which resulted in me learning how to make a video GIF to share my outrage, and was a long cat post right out of the box.

"Coach" Mac doesn't coach during games

Since then, my down-vote to post ratio is higher than our resident a$$, so I must be doing something right.

Hahaha... advising someone to not give a f*ck about what others thinks got me a dislike from my old buddy, Law. I swear, you just can't depend on anyone these days. Good thing I don't give a f*ck!

Welcome out of the shadows!

The honest opinions of posters here fall into 2 categories:

1) Immediate gratification - Mullen isn't going to get us to an NC or SEC Championship at all, so cut bait now and bring in someone who will

2) Incremental progress - as long as Mullen keeps things on an upward trendline, there is no reason to believe he can't bring the Gators back to championship glory over the next 1-3 years

Honest opinion posts make up anywhere from 30-50% of posts here depending on how things are going with the games, and recruiting, "the only thing that matters 82.4% of the time". The remainder are "troll posts" that aren't the honest opinions of the posters, but are extremes that are put out there to generate an impassioned response by people taking the other side of the extreme.
The challenge is in separating the honest opinion posts that you want to respond to with your own honest opinion, and in deciding whether to invest any time feeding the trolls with responses to their posts.

While many message boards have people who either troll or they do not, almost anyone at GCMB can be found guilty of trolling from time to time, which makes it a lot less easy to separate wheat from chaff as you might find at other places.

I’d add a third category: Persona non grata. There are certainly people here who never believed in Mullen and likely never will regardless.

Only other thing I’d add in disagreement with your otherwise tremendous post, no1g8r, is that the amount of “honest opinion” posts is likely 85-95%. Trolling is not as much an issue as you think.

I probably overestimated, and you probably underestimated. I’m too young to be as cynical as I was, and you’re too old to be that naive. Maybe closer to 60% honest and 40% troll posts.

You started an excellent thread, but this was just good old fashioned ball busting that you should have let go or conversely fired off a return shot. If you ever feel the need to flex on somebody here, you probably ought to step away from the keyboard for a bit - 99% of the shots taken are in fun and not meant to be personal. Occasionally some folks (who I won't name) get a bit carried away and cross the line. @oxrageous gives them a vacation and it usually corrects the issue; once in a blue moon he actually will have to permanently ban someone (and in some cases folks have actually requested a self-ban - I'm not making that up, BTW).

The best analogy I have heard to describe GCMB is it's like a sports bar where everyone has a different opinion about everything and no area of commentary is off-limits. One thing we all have in common (other than a few rivals who check in from time to time - some loved, some hated) is our rooting for the Gators. The negativity (mostly) tends to come from folks wanting things to be better than they are. We have had the good fortune of having had some great success over the years and some HOF coaches. It has probably spoiled us all to a certain extent and given us lofty expectations. The disagreements here all come from how to do we meet the expectations and where are we in getting to them. Many folks on here irritate the hell out of me sometimes (and no doubt vice-versa), but I keep coming back because it's entertaining as hell and often a great source of info and analysis. That's my $.02; welcome aboard and enjoy the ride. Oh and as for @Swamp Donkey and his rants, my personal theory is that his shorts are too tight.

Oh, shut up!

Took me a little while to settle in. Had some posters blast me a bit and it pissed me off.
I set the bar pretty high when I joined a month or so after Ox started the board:rotfl:....These f vckers threw everything but the kitchen sink at me for about 3 years before deciding they couldn't find a way to get rid of me...It's probably a good thing there wasn't a "Dislike" button at the time.....
Come to think of it it's probably a good thing that there is a "Donation Button"....
