Braun would be huge for us, but I seriously doubt we land all those guys. Signing days always seem to be mostly underwhelming for us, seems like our rivals always do better than expected though.

It depends on which signing day. ESD has been very good for Mullen the past two cycles, while NSD has been disappointing.

On Tony handling punt returns with no fumbling: Last game a sideline camera shot showed Toney sitting on the bench tightly holding a football. That is a way to put protecting the ball into your subconscious. Toney's upside is enough to give him more PR opportunities. Okay, let him be return-man when we are playing an overmatched team = hence lots of punts.

Yes Gibbs is not signing early. I think the Braun news changed some things. We were trying to flip Bowman, Williams, Smith and actually feel good about Smith and Williams. I think we basically conceded Braun and then that changes numbers and instead of 2 RB we take one now...if we can land who we think we are

Seems like we would appeal more to ATH than RBs. And maybe that is what we should be focused more on?

Going in home with EJ Smith tonight...have heard they have him #1 on the RB board now and the pitch is gonna be sign early with UF and we’ll take only 1 RB now.
Where do you hear this stuff? As of last night, Braun, Parrish and Williams are all Gators at the moment with Williams set to sign on NSD and the others on ESD....been told def one but shooting for both Braun and Parrish

Gibbs is the staff's next main target at RB and Smith is just a check-in in the event Gibbs doesn't jump. Right now Smith is all A&M or Stanford

He’s gonna ruin his shot at kids in a lot of schools with the way he’s handled everything so far...I hope they fall behind in another class and fall further and further...coaches and schools don’t forget this stuff

Like the way Chump blew the WPB Dwyer relationship.

The leading rusher in Florida was Johnny Richardson at Lake Wales. He’s really fast and extremely elusive, great cuts etc. But he’s 5’7” and 175, the prototypical back - for UCF. He ran wild vs. a very weak schedule and played well against the 3-5 legit teams they played.

I’m happy to have a kid like that on our roster, like Brandon James, Rainey, Demps, etc., as an accent/role player. There are rare guys like Warrick Dunn or Darren Sproles who are special players, but you can’t load up on them and win SEC championships.

Tweet is deleted.

What did it say?

It was a tweet from his uncle, former NFL WR Mike Sims-Walker.

Here's an article:

Former NFL wide receiver upset with FSU coach Mike Norvell over nephew’s recruitment

https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/college/acc/florida-state-university/article238315883.html

Former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker isn’t happy with new Florida State coach Mike Norvell.

Sims-Walker is the uncle of consensus 4-star quarterback recruit Jeff Sims, who plays high school football at Jacksonville Sandalwood High and plans to sign during next week’s early signing period.

Sims committed to the Seminoles last February. Following Willie Taggart’s dismissal on Nov. 3, Sims remained locked in with FSU. That changed this week.

Sims announced on Twitter he was decommiting from the Seminoles. Maryland and Georgia Tech emerged as front-runners to land the dual-threat quarterback.

Sims announcement came two days after Norvell reportedly met with him and told him he didn’t fit his system.

That led to Sims uncle, Mike Sims-Walker, to tweet his disapproval of the situation on Thursday.

“This new FSU coach @Coach_Norvell is a POS for the way he handled my nephew (Jeff Sims) situation!” Sims-Walker wrote in a since deleted tweet.

Sims is rated the No. 7 dual-threat quarterback in the 2020 class, according to the 247 Sports’ composite rankings. The Seminoles can ill-afford to miss on a quarterback for this year’s class. FSU previously did not sign a high school quarterback in the previous two recruiting cycles, instead relying on the transfer portal.

FSU extended offers Wednesday to other quarterbacks, including USF commit Tate Rodemaker.
