Three of the four teams in the playoff obviously couldn’t recruit QBs according to your “portal doesn’t count” logic. I’m not an advocate of living off of it, but dismissing the fact that Mullen should be credited for VJ and Grimes is ridiculous.

That’s predicting the future - which we can’t know. There are already high profile transfers in the portal this year again and its possible more declare as recruiting classes firm up. Plus, our 2 WRs this year are talented if they both qualify. If by some miracle we get Henderson, that’s a fine WR class with potential for a transfer to make it better if we so choose.

I wouldn't say they couldn't land any. I would say Grimes Jefferson Copeland and now fraziers and Manuel. I might even cut em some slack last class because there wasn't gonna be any pt this year.

If we're able to land McDaniel and/or Williams, Britt is the easy answer to the WR problem. The kid has great hands. Anyone know if the staff is considering it, and is he willing?

Well of course we can’t recruit wide receivers when all Mullen knows to do is run the QB up the middle and make everyone else block for him. Right?
Except all we CAN do is throw the ball, and we do it extremely well, and the WR corps - all Butters and Mullen recruits - is the strength of the team.
And Pitts. He doesn’t count of course because he’s a TE and we don’t throw to the TE either. Nor do we ever line him out wide.

The portal just started and 3 of 5 conference champs and 3 of 4 playoff teams are led by transfers. UGA’s best WR is a transfer. It’s a legit source of talent, including one of our only 5*s. Not advocating that it should be the primary source of talent acquisition but I do think it will increasingly become a good source for finding high end talent.
