6 or God willing better. Otherwise I’ll be disappointed with the momentum and hype we’ve seen and heard. A few of the top guys landed with some processing if necessary and obvious bumps after all star games. No reason we shouldn’t hit that mark.

I got to figure some teams will pass us on signing day, what’s the worst we’re looking at finishing 8-9?
Yep, prolly be passed. This class will be more dry hump than finally getting to put "just the tip" in. But at least this year we're taking a girl to the prom.

Another 8-12 will be a lot less exciting than being in a higher tier. Hopefully we finish strong, oversign and lose some of the nonperformers.

I know that it's very hard on you younger guys. You want to be back now. I just think, given CDM's talents and proclivities, it is his and our only hope.

We have only three players with 5.9 or higher ratings (stops at Rivals 144th ranked player) - Wingo, Dexter and Manuel (qualifying?). Braun at 5.8 is surprising.

Oklahoma (5), dwags (7), miami (5), ND (6), and Texas (5) are all in position to move ahead of us on rivals because they have more guys 5.9+ while having 4-10 less commitments total. If you prefer 247, those same teams are even closer on our heels.

This is again looking like a good class, but being thin with elite difference makers and having 8 DB’s prevent it from being a great class.

That blue chip ratio Slevin loves is very important and this class improves our position there, which as AR implied in his post, is progress Mullen needs to make. Maybe it is a different path to a championship than you typically see and is a slower momentum build to the top. Maybe the other AR is such a beast in this offense he becomes like Tajh Boyd for Clemson (since so many love Dabo comparisons for every slow out of the gate coach), leading to future 5 stars like Watson and Lawrence. Last, maybe the facilities being closer to reality for kids in the 2021 class makes an impact there.

One thing this class seems to do is ensure we aren’t moving backwards long term. With Mullen and some of this staff not being great recruiters, that is very good to see.

There has been mild surprise, but little discussion of the three recruits practicing with the team. Seems to me that this could be huge for the players involved. Not only do they benefit from what they learn in practice, but they get a glimpse of their weaknesses before they begin the strength and conditioning program.
Can someone tell me what page of this monstrosity this is posted because, I have my doubts this is even possible.
The fall semester ended yesterday, so how could they already be enrolled. My guess is they are here observing practice which is common but, not actually participating.

One, I said a championship. Two, google yourself. But Urban did four it times and SOS did it twice.
My bad. I thought you meant Natty’s.
Oh and I did google the Natty one. The other coach in recent times to win a Natty in Y2 besides Urbs was, of all people, Gene Chizik. Forgot all about him.

Stoops, Urban and Tressel come to mind. I think Coaker may have done it in his 1st year, but was left a stacked team from Butch.
My memory is clearly not what it used to be; I had forgotten both of those guys too. Coaker’s title always reminded me of Barry Switzer’s NFL title; crazy stacked team.

If we get a full class of say 28 recruits will Donnie Millens say in his press conference, "The schitter is full now!" That would be classic and a knock on his haters in the SEC and Nation.

This class just feels different.
It's not elite and not even the best average of the last few years but we got kids that we wanted. I bet this class plays more downs than any in the last 10 years.

Perhaps I’m alone here, but I much prefer the single thread. Trying to follow all the movements across too many individual recruit threads leads to a lot of missed info if you aren’t on here or twitter all day long. Threads get buried at the bottom and missed.

I think this running story of our recruiting season is great. Now, bring the vitriol!
