No it’s not. He’s rebuilding the brand and he runs a specialized offense. You can’t conceivably know the bottom line after three, and esp with the kind of recruiting year he’s putting together based on the program’s momentum. You’ll have a strong hint, but you want four to know for sure.

None of this matters if he suddenly bombs next season, but I don’t expect that.
Hence why I said direction not final product. Three recruiting classes in, we will see where the needle is pointing. If we continue to get the 6th class that is a good step. If we don't look like a bunch of Oscars on the first drive against ugay next year also moving in the right direction but that is yet to be seen.

You call me obtuse simply because you are ignorant. We are currently recruiting 4 dudes that are right at 300lbs at DT.

Name all four with verifiable sources on weight. No 276 and 250 are not right at 300.

we allegedly have a good chance at 3 of them. That doesnt include dexter who just about everyone thinks will play next year outside of you.

Until isn't a fact that he is, it's hope.. trading on hope is what got us where we are today.

You are making statements about these guys and you don't have a good idea how much they weigh. When did rivals weight brown and dexter at 250&276?

Until there is verifiable evidence to prove otherwise, what are we supposed to go on...See above.

We are currently rocking slaton, campbell, carter, dunlap, conliffe and Humphries. All those guys should be 300ish next year. We also have lang at DE I believe who should give (some) size.

Currently we do have 5 guys on the roster at 295 or above... unless you have another source. Carter is 263 according to Floridagators.com roster. I'm sure you have a verified source that is different right? Sorry if I'm not going to go on "SHOULD" be, you don't know how a guy is going to play at a weight until he has played at that weight. An extra 40 pounds could do a lot to some guys joints.

2019 Football Roster - Florida Gators

17 Zachary Carter DL 6-4 263 R-So. Tampa, Fla. / Hillsborough
55 Kyree Campbell DL 6-3 304 Jr. Woodbridge, Va. / Woodbridge
56 Tedarrell Slaton DL 6-5 358 Jr. Fort Lauderdale, Fla. / American Heritage
66 Jaelin Humphries DL 6-4 320 Fr. Lawrenceville, Ga. / Mountain View
88 Adam Shuler DL 6-4 275 Gr. Longwood / Lyman
91 Marlon Dunlap Jr. DL 6-3 295 R-Jr. Charlotte, N.C. / West Charlotte
92 Jabari Zuniga DL 6-4 246 R-Sr. Marietta, Ga. / Sprayberry
93 Elijah Conliffe DL 6-4 312 Jr. Hampton, Va. / Hampton
98 Luke Ancrum DL 6-5 263 R-Sr. Sebring, Fla. / Sebring

Now the assumption you are also making is that Slaton (seeing a 2-4 round grade) and Campbell do not at least take a look at their NFL prospects. Now I "hope" both return, but you can't plan on that especially with the recruiting cycle that starts the day after NSD ends. Also doesn't take into account injuries and guys who don't pan out, which the guys that don't pan (due to not gaining size, injury, etc..) in the lines is roughly 50%.

Of course CDM brings real concerns. None of us are happy with where we are.
Guess I'm the exception then. I am happy with where we are. I am not content however. To view where we are, it's important to remember where we were. Our program became a dumpster fire under Butters with absolutely unwatchable football. I understand that some of us here may still think we are unwatchable, but overall I have enjoyed the last two seasons, though I wish a couple of games had had a better result. I feel that CDM has done an amazing job overall and fixed much that was wrong. If this is the plateau however, I will quickly fall into the unhappy camp. Time will tell.

Verifiable sources? Ha. Theres no such thing. Your verifiable sources state that zach carter and jon greenard weigh the same. You really believe that?

Assumption I am making on next years returnees? I said we could have six, or we could have 2.

You are correct. I should have said "content" instead of "happy".

Well imo he's already 0-4 against Smart 0-2 in games and 0-2 in recruiting. I see no wins in his future either. If there is 1 thing we know about Mullen it's that he struggles to find a way to beat teams with more talent. In 9 years at MSU he probably had 3 wins against teams with more talent. At UF hes 1-4 because I believe LSU last year had more talent than us but we won.

Ultimately recruiting and stubbornness will be his downfall. I just pray we dont treat him like Richt and keep him around like UGA did. I think if he starts 0-5 against UGA he's got to go, I dont care what he does with the rest of the games because if he cant beat UGA then he ain't gonna beat no playoff teams and were here to win Championships.

And this is not me bashing Mullen because I think he's done a great job so far but he needs to get over the recruiting hump and imo he didn't do it this year. In fact his average went down again this year which is crazy. They say the transition class is supposed to be the worse class yet its Mullens best average. 2018 (3.78 - 7th highest average), 2019 (3.64 - 8th highest average), 2020 (3.58 - 9th highest average) Miami as terrible as they are and we beat them had a higher average than us in 2020.

And beat UGA isnt going to change anything either. The only thing that's going to fix recruiting is Mullen dropping the dead weight from his staff and hiring elite recruits to replace them with.

@ThreatMatrix calculated this and I’m pretty sure Dan had one of the best records against teams with superior talent in the SEC.

I agree, but if you and the others whove been vocal about this actually believe it will happen, I feel bad for you. If he goes 0-5 against dwags but stays at or above 9 wins a season he isnt going anywhere. Especially if he's routinely getting at large bids to NY6 bowls.

Consider this, the same people who seem to be completely content with us being the worst in the SEC in facilities, and continue to allow upgrades to be put off in perpetuity are the ones that will ultimately determine Dan's fate. You think a bunch of people who have cleary shown comfort in mediocrity are gonna pull the trigger on a guy who runs a clean program, wins around 10 a year and gets NY6 berths just because he routinely loses 1 game a year, even if its to a rival? Sorry, but nothing about stricklin, the Pres, the big money boosters, or the AD spending priorities say anything other than they are generally good with the status quo.
