This is the kind of game where White should use our backups to get better. I still have the belief that the 3-point shot will double-cross us at crucial times. 3-pt shots teach nothing.

I can agree with this: when we're up by 40, getting guys like Mann and Glover hot behind the 3 has limited value. There's no pressure or consequences if they miss, so it's really not much different than shooting treys in practice.

Contrast that with the enormous benefits to running different sets and working it in down low to Payne, Bassett, Jitoboh, Gak, etc. Getting those guys real game reps about how to work it to the basket and score or get fouled will pay off later on in the season when we're in a closer game and someone like Blackshear is in foul trouble.

I nice game to have as a confidence builder. It doesn’t prove anything and matters little in the larger scheme of things. But everybody gets minutes and contributes. The young guys get a little more comfortable on the floor.

I also really like Glover and Payne. Glover especially as he really changes tempo and attacks the basket aggressively.

This is the kind of team we want to see regardless of the opponent. We were playing much more freely and fast and actually hitting shots. KBJ doing what he has done all year with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Locke with 16 points and 10 rebounds and keeping his hot hand going from 3 going 4/9 from deep. Mike Hubert and Mark Wise commented on the radio how Locke started shooting 26% from 3 the first half of the season but the last 8 games or so he is shooting 46% from 3. Gotta make shots man and he has! KJ with 21 points and 6 rebounds and a number of thunderous dunks. Omar Payne with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Nemb very productive with a career high 13 assists. Gators were favored by 22 points and we won going away by 39 points, something we have all been hoping to see from this team besides the close wins or losses. Hopefully we can keep it going to begin conference play. Go Gators!!

The odd thing about this season has been while we complain about the pace...we all hate slow ball...the bigger problem has been our shooting. Slow pace or not we have continually gotten open looks. We’ve missed layups, putbacks, midrange and 3’s even when wide open.

While the running joke has been....”if we had only made our shots”.....sometimes it’s that simple. We have lost every game we have shot under 40%. We are 8-1 when we shoot over 40%.

White get mad after the game about giving up 63? all about the D you know.

it’s his job to find things for his team to work on coming out of every game. I would’ve been pissed if he had said everything was great. And the team did give up some easy drives to the basket in the middle of the second half.

Get Gak into his typical skill-level, whatever that is and our "talls" will be Gak, Bassett, Blackshear, Payne, Jitoboh. Now that can be a formidable inside offense & defense. More usable players = more "running allowed" due to resting guys frequently. Johnson + Blackshear is our core. Our backcourt has the speed to keep opposing defenses lagging behind the ball movement. IDK if White can stay out of their way?
Gak, Bassett, Blackshear, Payne, Jitoboh? I know you like taller players. Is that your ideal starting five? Who plays the point?

Enjoyable Gator team to watch today, to cheer for. Their floor tactics worked and Gators worked them. Gators seemed to lock on to this style of offensive attack. Made the most of what was there. Our "talls" got heavy use. Payne is developing. Jitoboh can be developed; he's a big plug in there. I sure like Glover & Mann speeding up everything. They make the opposing defense chase & stumble. I did miss Lewis; Lewis always exudes enthusiasm and faith in our getting better. Nembhard was Rembrandt out there. But we had other movers & shakers.

I think Blackshear got the correct amount of rest breaks to stay at peak performance. Maybe Johnson also.

Hopefully, (once again) this signals the Gators' epiphany on how to attack.? It should start around Blackshear & Johnson in close. How many games until the 3-shots forsake Locke and all? Determination "not to backslide" resides where? Can Coach White be depended upon or must certain solid players take the lead?? Silly to have to ask that this far into the season, even worse that it's all about looking for a missing coach.?

Next up 6-5 Alabama. Mike Okauru's brother is on their roster.??

You posted that because the players I listed added up to 5? ;)
Read full sentences: I put them as an inside group. Alternate players used to manipulate foul troubles, to step in when the starters falter, etc. Sometimes such players inject some lacking energy, determination, etc.
