It mattered more back in the days of 3 yards and a cloud of dust, but it is completely irrelevant for modern offenses.
Yet, morons like Smart and Chump still value it. If the difference is extreme, of course it matters but other factors likely come into play and are more important. AF had a 45-15 advantage last night against WSU. That definitely helped them win but that wasn’t the primary factor - WSU just couldn’t stop the triple option.

Lincoln Riley is the best O-coordinator masquerading as a head coach in the history of college football

I think they are going to slowly step back. Baylor showed their cracks this year. He’s no Stoops from a HC perspective. Heck of an OC though.

I see Riley leaving for the nfl. The no fun league has been trying. Eventually, one team will lure him away.

Can the committee stop putting this little 12 trash in the playoffs? There are a few sure things in life. Death. Taxes. Okrahomo getting their azz kicked in the playoffs.

Thank goodness the UK UofL basketball game was entertaining so I did not have to watch much of this game.

I can't totally fault the committee b/c everyone, including the committee, knew that they had 3 teams and then one outlier. If somehow UGly could have beaten LSU then they could have had LSU at 3 and Ugly at 4 They certainly did not want Baylor to win the Big 12. They were hoping that Bama would beat the Barn so they could at least put them in so only to lose to LSU by 24 or so. I am convinced they knew they had a potentially horrible scenario awaiting and unfortunately it came to fruition.

The teams in the big12 are catching up and he’s hit the transfer lottery three years in a row which is good enough for the conference but not the big games ooc

What’s more embarrassing - our loss to Nebraska or Oklahoma loss to LSU?

Our loss to Nebraska was way worse for a couple of reasons. First it was the NC game so to speak. Secondly, to me, it always looks worse when a team gets pushed around physically like a shopping cart as Nebraska did to us, vs. today's game of more uptempo, passing game. If the final score were not really reflective of how the games truly went, you could then make a decent case. But in both of the games you reference they were men vs. little girls. Somehow getting bulldozed seems worse then getting beat over the top, IDK it's just me.

Can we finally make peace with the idea that the Big 12 is nothing more than the Mountain West without the peaks?

Even this guy is impressed by how savage that was:

Meh, the 2nd half for us was bad as Nebraska curb stomped us but IIRC we were close (within 10) about 3 mins before the half.

However, Oklahoma looked over matched from the start to the finish and only made progress against 2nd stringers.

I hear you and your score numbers are correct but I was at the game and I personally saw us having practically zero chance after the 1st quarter, barring some gift TO's we might have gotten. They pushed us around and the longer it went on, the wearier we became the worse it got.
