First of all, if Grantham is only good because of the talent, then why no acknowledgment of Greenard and Zuniga being out against Georgia?

Secondly, re the inside joke, Law’s grand idea for replacing Butters was to (are you ready?) appoint an indefinite interim until we found the right guy.

Charlie isn't stepping back to DC level. He has about 20 million stashed and doesn't need to wok right now. In reality, defenses have moved on and he may have T-Rex arms now.

What's up with Marquand Manuel these days? I seem to recall seeing his name come up as a possible replacement when TG was talking to the Bungles last year about this time. Would he be a quality get or just a familiar face with a Gator pedigree - ala FireFoley's recent rant? I'm all for seeing the last of 3rd and Grantham, now that the hay is pretty much in the barn recruiting wise, and a "younger" DC with some NFL cred wouldn't be the worse thing in the world. Any thoughts?

Don Brown would be solid replacement IMO. He’s had the #1 defense at both BC and Michigan. He’s had a couple of let downs this year as the talent has dropped off at Michigan, but he is in that upper echelon of DCs.

It’s also possible that he crossed paths with some guys on our staff since he ended up being on Addazio’s staff at BC.

If Grantham goes, I'd try to see if I could lure TRob back or get jim leanard to leave his alma mater. I can't remember the DC's name from UNC but he was pretty solid at army and seemed to have turned the unc's defense around.
