Henry is an absolute monster. I don’t ever remember the guy getting hurt at Bama or the NFL, just durable as hell. Champ is an idiot. Honestly Henry was smart enough to see that as well, he made the right life decisions for sure.

Is it though? You have a few media outlets claiming it. I guess it makes for better news of it's true.

Player Bear Bryant called his biggest mistake rooting for Derrick Henry

I guess we'll never know. Kinda like the $ UGA is paying recruits

Not going to name names on this board but I know a player personally that played with Beck and is also being recruited by a few D1 schools that told me Beck was 100% being taken care of by UGA every time they visited him they were giving him money.

This kid also told me that there was real tension in the locker room because Kirby told Beck to not try so hard because he didn't want him to get hurt. So Beck wasn't giving it his all and it didnt rub well with the team. Moral of the story is we know they are paying the players but the NCAA will do nothing about it.

Here's a fun read about Derrick Henry's recruitment from 247's Steve Wiltfong.

Alabama's Henry the greatest high school player of all-time

A) Many college coaches saw the athlete label as well and had Henry as an impact guy on defense

B) Besides Alabama, Ramsey (Bobby Ramsey, his coach) said Florida was the only other school that had a chance sign him. In fact Ramsey reached out to the Gators staff and told them Henry was back in play.

“They said we don’t know if he’s an offensive player, we’re going to have to go back and reevaluate it again, and they just got a commit from Kelvin Taylor, and I’m like why not try and get them both. We played against Taylor and I was thinking they’re really complimentary players. One guy is North and South, the other one is shiftier. You got this kid 90 miles from your backyard and when Florida is Florida, they’re getting the best players in Jacksonville area and with Derrick they didn’t do it.”

C) “I remember schools flat out told me we don’t like him as a running back,” Ramsey said. “I was like I don’t know what to tell you and he doesn’t want to hear that. He’ll be polite but he’s not going to look at your school.

I remember that and many people felt like he was too tall to be an effective RB at the next level and would not last running so upright. Eric Dickerson ran upright but Henry did not have that kind of speed and Eddie George was a taller, upright runner who did wear down a bit, but only after years in the NFL. In hindsight the prudent thing was to tell the kid you can play any position you want, and when they get to school and see that they can't make it, they will switch positions. Remember Joe Cohen? anyone who saw him in HS knew he was not a college football RB. Well he insisted and when he got to UF, how long did that last? About 10 minutes? Say hello to D Tackle.

I've followed recruiting for over forty years and there have been four guys that were absolute must haves.
1. Emmitt Smith
2. Tim Tebow
3. Derrick Henry F ing Muschamp
4. Justin Fields F ing butters

Henry is an absolute monster. When the Titans get a lead, they are practically unbeatable right now, as they just let Henry take over from there.

FALSE.

It was absolutely true. He absolutely did not want him at RB. He only wanted him at LB.

This is the absolute reason why Will Muschamp doesn't deserve to be a HC anywhere in CFB. But then again......he can stay at any of our rivals. I was talking to my son while we watched Henry almost single handedly dismantle the Ravens last night. He would have been a beast at UF. But anyway, he has the Titans running and they are a very dangerous team right now. If Mariotta had not been starting the first seven games, may have been different. They have a HC that knows what QB compliments his RB and Defense....Novel idea, eh?

I've got a nephew who played with Henry in highschool, he's always stuck with the story that Henry wanted to be and grew up a Gator. Not sure about whether Muschamp wanted him at LB or RB but I do know my nephew always laughed about everyone knew as soon as Henry showed up at school with a new Challenger or charger (can't remember which) they all knew he was Bama bound.

He was a man among boys last night. 195 yds on 30 carries against Baltimore on the road? GTFOH

The Titans are my Cinderella pick to win it all.
