Violation or not, there is no place for that kind of behavior in college football or any sport. .
What violation? Not sure what you are thinking? Perhaps that the NCAA owns these kids?

The second the the whistle blew to end the game those kids (seniors and early entrants to the draft) can run straight to the sideline sign w an agent to get a pile of cash fronted and a set of keys to a Jag, sign jerseys or whatever for $10K a pop or whatever they damn well please.

What do you think the NCAA can do? At most, say they arent eligible to play anymore... not a damn thing more.

Once the whistle blows they are free.

You and I know that the NCAA Is not going to do a damn thing and I don't know if they could even if they wanted to as you suggest. Sure a kid "can run straight to the sideline" after the whistle blows and sign a pro football contract. But isn't there a point to be made that the OBJ pay-off was for services performed during this game and while the player's eligibility was still in effect? In other words if the Jacksonville Jaguars offered the kid a Jag to sign with the jaguars and play for the Jaguars that's one thing, but if the Jaguars or anybody else gives the kid a Jaguar for beating Clemson that I have a problem with that.

I know there is no way to prove that OBJ gave the kid the money for beating Clemson because OBJ could just say he was giving him some cash for something unrelated to the Clemson game. Still it looks bad. And I don't think it sends a good message to college football fans in general. But you're right. Nobody gives a damn. And it's not really worth losing any sleep over. LSU is gonna LSU.

I didn't say it was a violation. I said it was disrespectful.

Every dollar or contract is a payoff for how they performed in college.

There isnt a damn thing the NCAA can do, unless one of the kids was planning on playing again next year.

Justin Jefferson #2 is a Junior.
Jontre Kirklin #13 is a Junior.

Hope they both turn pro. Bad look regardless.

Exactly. OBJ could say he knew they were going pro and was giving them an early present for their impending employment. Nothing to see here unless they come back.

If I were the Ogre I'd have broke OBJ's fairy ass in half as soon as I caught wind of this shyt. LSU just pulled off one of the most remarkable seasons in football history and that idiot pulled this stunt. I guess he couldn't handle not being the center of attention for just a little while.

Esquire, I think you may be off.

OBJ paid that player for his performance while he was playing for LSU. If OBJ promised to pay a freshman $10,000 in 2023 (when that kid graduates) for his performance on Monday, it would be a violation.

If it weren’t a violation, LSU would be allowed to say, “Hey come to LSU, when you leave the program, we’ll buy you a house”

While it’s a violation, the only penalty to Jefferson is he can’t play a college game again. About as painful as taking a bicycle from a fish.

But OBJ could be banned form LSU activities, and LSU could be spanked. The wussy NCAA won’t do it, but it’s still a violation.

well, I just poked the bear (or donkey), I await my tongue lashing.

No violation in any case, LSU has announced that it was just fake money. All that believe that it was, in fact, fake money please hold up your hands.

You sound like a first week law student trying to impress the professor.

Yes, it could also be murder for hire if the money was for killing Ms Plum in the red room with a candelabra, terrorism if it was actually meant to be funneled to Al Quaeda, money laundering if it was actually mob or cartel money being moved, or a political kickback if the money was being funneled to one of Quid Pro Joe Biden as a kickback for him securing federal funds.

Yes, Mr New Student, it could be ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING if you change the facts.

Or if you apply GAAP to the facts caught on video, but I guess I don’t have a “clue” about that.

Can’t spell Clue w/out 1L.

never heard of him. youd think if a junior was entering early, we'd know who he is or hear his name called once or twice during the game. looks like this moron just gave up his senior year.

Kirklin is eligible to turn pro, but I'm going to guess he is not planning to given he had two receptions for 75 yards this year, both of which came against the Northwestern State Demons. It appears he only played in one other game...against Georgia State where he collected zero receptions for zero yards. Definitely not the type of player that usually declares a year early for the draft.

Lol. Imagine actually believing it was fake money. I'm sure there are people out there.

So at this point, LSU was seen on national television handing out wads of cash for players, AND tried to cover it up immediately. QB immediately sells them out and confirms it was real cash... Anddddd nothing will still happen.

You know how I know? Because the ****ing basketball coach was caught on tape talking about paying players and he was suspended for a few games and now nobody is even talking about it or worried about it anymore.

Maybe it really is time for college sports to die to semi-pro teams once these colleges are allowed to pay players in a couple of years, because this is getting stupid
