SOS isn't going to disparage a Gator coach. He an ambassador for the school, and he never really spoke poorly about McElwain, lord knows he had opportunities
He's also the master of masking a slam inside of a compliment.

Spurrier would have already fired Grantham because of his inability to get Spurrier the ball back to his offense. Spurrier wanted a 3 and out or the other team to score quicker. F...ing multiple 3 rd down conversions in one drive would have Spurrier convulsing on the sidelines.

I figured that would get some attention. But he did say it, so your argument is with him about what he said.

I get dumbfounded by the 3rd & Grantham collapses. Seems like we do better with 3rd & 4 than 3rd & 24. We got torn up by LSU but almost everyone did. UGA stands out as a game we could have won but their crappy receivers had a field day on us - and just us. UVA’s QB looked fantastic against us - and just us. Even scUM’s freshman won praise in their loss to us but was soon benched. Several other games were closer than they should have been.

I’m not sure how much to pin on the scheme issues vs personnel. Our safeties are weak, our LBs range from good to inexperienced. Our DTs are decent but not terribly disruptive and were thoroughly handled by LSU and UGA. Our star DEs had no ankles when we needed them most. Butters nearly left that cupboard bare. If not for Shuler & Greenard we would have been in rough shape.

It’s just slang with the Gold teeth and/or dreads...I know we’re on our way back to the top when we’re gonna play with that attitude

I have no doubt he said it. Spurrier also says things that have double meanings. I never take what he says at face value! LOL. I miss that.

There are a couple of things that worry me about Dexter. The competition he played against in high school was garbage. But, he dominated every camp he was at. He has tremendous versatility. I think he ends up at SDE.

The second is his height. I've looked at the rosters in the nfl. There are only a handful of 6'7 guys on the d-line in the entire league. It is rare. Although, most of them are DTs, not DEs.

They changed his height. It was listed at 6'7. Plenty of 6'6 guys at DE. Still rare at DT.

Height hurts you more at DT than DE. If you are tall, you must play w tremendous technique and discipline to keep your pad level low. Generally, the guy w the lower pads win.
