Briles offense is a one read offense, this actually should allow for Franks to play okay
I can't imagine him managing all those quick decisions and memorizing the playsets.Briles offense is a one read offense, this actually should allow for Franks to play okay
Yeah, all the Big 10 teams rush to play Vandy or whomever is the current cellar dweller in the west so they can "get a victory over an SEC team" finally.Week 2 at Notre Dame.
He didn't quit. He saw the writing on the wall. Just like Grier w/Mac. He gave everything here and it still wasn't enough. You guys really give the rest of us fans of UF a bad name and are the reason why SOS left.He QUIT Florida to go compete at Arkansas, same conference. I’m surprised more of that isn’t being made here. Seriously, there is no rationale.
He'll light them up.Week 2 at Notre Dame.
He beat KT for the job here. What would that say about Mullen? What’s going to be funny is when he doesn’t win the starting job.
Mac is who killed FF to UF fans here. They blamed him instead of the asshat in charge. You have to think he saw how well Trask played and then read the writing on the wall. Trask being an unknown is why FF started, even though his play did improve substantially from 2017-2018-2019.
So would his broken ankleHis teammates would disagree but whatevs
This is so pathetically stupid that you're getting a vacation. A long one. Get bent. Go to Swamp Gas and hang out with the "real" fans there. He didn't quit. He saw the writing on the wall. Seriously. Mullen gave him a great suggestion to go to the Pirate. I guess the Pirate's new job nixed that one. I think Kansas would have been a better landing spot than Arkansas. He may have put up some numbers against Big 12 defenses. Some how, with 3 whole months to think about it, the kid still is displaying sub par decision making skills.

Where is the evidence that Pittman wants to play 80s football? Because he coached under Smart and is an OL guy? Bringing in Briles would not support that style of offense and I could have sworn I saw a quote from Pittman saying he wants to run a spread offense (or something to that effect). His team will be looking up at every single squad they play against, outside of 3 games(and Nevada and ULM may be close). Not to mention being coached by a first time head man who wants to run a 1980s smash mouth system, focused on the run, which is likely going to be about lining up and beating the other guy as opposed to scheming a mismatch. I could be wrong, but this is not the fit for him and I think his arrogance is the reason he's there. Still wish him the best(even if it means having my Oxbucks seized or frozen), but this was a bad move.

“If you look at the RPO game with the abilities for your quarterback to run and or throw," Pittman said. "If you get big, big, if you are going 12-plus, if you are going 12-22, 21-plus in this league, you better have the real deal because they're gonna have guys at 320, 330 pounds on the other side. I'm not telling you that the philosophy has gone to spread because that's a lie, but I think you do have to have the edge covered. But, I don't think you can just turn around down and down and hand the ball off to the tailback and say let's go sic ‘em. You might be able to do it in the third and fourth quarters, but so what we want is to be versatile.
"I love the RPO game, I like the quarterback read game. I like the 11, which is one tight end and three wideouts. I like to throw the flash screens and different things that are into the RPO system. Again, when I was here at Arkansas the first time we played bully ball. It worked for us at times and sometimes it didn't. It's like football. I think there's a time to bully people well, but you better have the guys if you are gonna try to bully somebody. Right now, we will be more of a pin and pull, more of the RPO system. Things where we can get angles in blocking and edges as fast as we can with either read or pulling linemen to get out there.”
