I met Eli and his mom at a Ut - UF game at the Swamp. I was on my way to get a coke. She was wearing a big ribbon with Peyton’s number & picture on it and we were recruiting Eli at the time. I just asked if she was Mrs. Manning, she said she was. I congratulated her on what a fine player and person Peyton was and said I hoped she was being treated well. Eli looked very protective of her until he saw I wasn’t being a jerk.

I’ve liked him as a player. He’s not the machine Peyton was but a playmaker and a winner. 2 Super Bowl wins and MVPs is quite impressive.

Never one bit of drama out of him. The best of the Manning kids.

Archie Manning was a great player in his own right and was a good father and husband. When he was the quarterback at Ole Miss he came home to the little town of Drew, Mississippi and found his father in the house dead from a suicide. Archie went on to complete his seasons at Ole Miss followed by a pro career. He bought a fine old home in the Garden District of New Orleans and raised a fine family.

I'll probably get trashed...but he's a Manning so never really cared for him. Didn't help his case by pulling an Elway and refusing to play for the Chargers.

So yeah...eff him.

You’re allowed!

But...

1. He was right.

2. He flat wore out the Gators. How I hated watching him carve us up. And I think a hurricane was coming that weekend, too.

Neither of which helps his case.

But he kept the ‘72 Dolphins as the only perfect NFL season. That’s a plus for me.

I went to Oxford and watched him beat Rex. Rex was off and the rest of the team played "Zooker" ball. The wife and I enjoyed the Blues music on Beale St in Memphis though.

mmmm ya he did well against us but I'm pretty sure we just had a really bad against him. I think we had some bad turnovers. If I remember correctly, the longest TD drive that Eli had the game he beat us was like 50 yards. We gifted Ole Miss that game

I hope you said those things only so you could get really close to her on the way back to your seat and douse her with the coke. Otherwise, I’ve got to ask, wtf were you thinking talking up Mr. Forehead?

Because I’m not a dickwad. Peyton was a good kid. I would expect the same from them re: Danny.

Painful. I don’t remember a lot about it except he had 2-3 tall, white WRs that we couldn’t cover on 3rd down.
