I have to agree with the comfort people. Remodel with comfortable fan experience in mind, sell food at reasonable price.

Every other business is competing at a much higher level for our entertainment dollars. We are giving up too much for the live experience. The live experience is cool and definitely has value, but not that dang much. Get real.

In order to go fast, you must go slow.

The same applies here...
- reduce the capacity
- install bigger and more comfortable seating
- keep pricing the same, or reduce it
- have traditional food options that are of high quality at a reasonable price but also offer healthy options and a few exotic options
- great wifi

Do the above and people will fill the stadium to capacity. This will create a demand that will then create the ability to make a fortune!

We've had season tickets since '93 and you used to be able to get a hotel for under $100 and there wasn't a 2 night minimum. It made going to the later games much easier. I'm just not willing to spend $250 a night for 2 nights for a room at the Hampton Inn. I'm sure this effects the ability of younger fans to attend.

And for all the money spent on player facilities etc I am sitting on the same aluminum plank that's been there since the '70's and now you can't even bring a cushion into the stadium. We still enjoy going and just renewed another year so Go Gators.

What money do you think you spent on player facilities? they painted the locker room and put in LEDs. they are still sitting on the same aluminum planks in the locker room from 1970 also.

Fooley and his slumlords are still in the building lining their own pockets. I promise the Fooley does not have the same seat from 1970.

Add this to the list I provided. I forgot all about how the local businesses get their punches in as well.
Might as well take advantage of your loyalty so they can share in the profits.

Gatorinknox, review this by enrollment stats with UF @ approx. 52,000 vs. UM @ approx. 17,000.. Football game attendance average @ UF approx. 86,000 vs. $58,000 @ UM (probably inflated & not paid ticket #'s). Thus, I will reduce this number to 30,000. UF & FSU - majority of enrolled students are from the State of FL vs. UM - majority of students from out-of-state & few can afford the costs @ Miami vs. a state school unless on some type of scholarship. Thus, if you do the math on this, we do pretty well in attendance particularly since we have to compete with pro football, pro basketball, NASCAR, South Beach venue, etc. etc. vs. Gainesville ???

I was born @ Alachua Gen. Hosp. and my relatives are in Hampton (Bradford Co.), and know this is a very nice area, however, there is virtually no competition for attendance @ UF football games plus alums only have to travel up to a max of 5-6 hours to attend games and I suspect the majority far less. So, there you go....I am finished with my lesson for the day.

Yes, just remember, I have a new pig valve which is working great; thus, don't continue to make fun of my team attendance as I will oink you to death!!!

Obviously, based on facts, attendance has nothing to do with winning football games - wouldn't you agree?

Total bullshyt. You are total liars and rarely have 10k in the stands.
My boss is a former college football player and loves to go any games; NFL, college, or high school. He was in Miami on a business trip and decided to go to the scUM-Va Tech game back in October. According to him, there were a lot more fans at the stadium than i tlooked like on TV as they were all partying and not actually in their seats. To him it appeared the on the field action was an after thought that the fans would only catch a bit of. Seems odd to me, but it is a different culture down there.

I agree 1000%
Dropping my tix for 2020
The travel and tailgating are fun for me. Seeing friends 3-4 times per year at games is great. But the stadium experience has been shytty for several seasons. I moved my tix out of sect 10 so to be off the bleachers and it was better. But honestly not much. Love the Gators and will still go to a select number of games and I will pick the best seats. No more giving up 5 weekends. They need to gut the Swamp.

SD, first of all when was the last time you attended a UM game @ Hard Rock & actually saw first hand the number of actual attendees? As one poster pointed out a lot were out of their seats partying in another area. Yes, it is definitely a different culture down there. If you carefully re-read my post, I reduced the 58,000 to 30,000 as I felt that was a closer number of paid attendance. Secondly, why does our attendance affect you so much that you are reduced to calling us liars? Thirdly, attendance obviously has had no adverse affect on wins between our teams = 29 UM to 27 UF, thus, pretty even. How on earth have we managed that based on our bad attendance?

Just about every football forum has a "memorable" poster. You may remember Danny BoyCane who was ours (I really miss him) and obviously you are the memorable Gator poster. No problem as I feel it adds "spice" to the board, so carry on.

I can't speak for anybody but myself, but after 25 years holding season tickets, where I am in life just made it too difficult to keep up. I wasn't crazy about the booster fees continually rising, but that 's part of modern economics (I guess). The sad part for me in all of this is that it seems the younger generation(s) don't seem to be into the game day experience as much as what I experienced. I know the phones are a huge part of everyone's life, but they seem to have dampened the overall enthusiasm of the stadium. I will say that I went to USCe last year and F$U this year and the atmosphere was more spirited. Could be a more successful and consistent team might have some effect? :scratchchin:

I get what @daytonacane is saying about everyone getting tired of Bama, but I'm not so sure that it might help the interest of CFB overall with the multitudes who watch to see if they will get knocked down. Problem is that any interest stirred up likely translate into higher numbers of TV fans, which, if I had to boil it down, the fact that every game almost is televised and it makes it easier to sit at home and view games from noon 'til midnight instead of driving to one game and then driving home. We are a society of convenience and I believe it is reflected in CFB attendance. Besides, old @sses like me, if we're going to a football game, that's what we are going to watch. All the other offerings to make it an "experience" are pretty much meaningless wastes of time and money to me and part of the reasons I don't enjoy the NFL anymore. Now, if the Porpoise was still operating I might have a different opinion...

Gee that’s interesting. The difference in alumni and enrollment never seemed to affect Miami attendance back in the 80’s and 90’s when you had a stadium full of fans with Dolphins gear on
My point is that Miami has never had a true fan base. Instead what you had were a bunch of bandwagon people that love winners

Now that the winning has waned you are left with your 10k true fan base

We have never had consistent sell-outs even in the 80's & 90's - only when we played UF, FSU, ND & OSU, regardless of being #1 in the nation; thus, you are correct in that we have a low true fan base understandably attributable to the reasons I have previously mentioned. I am one of the very few native Floridians who attended UM.

To be fair, you werent the one who made the silly comment that they heard that we've been spending money on football facilities.
